When I lived in FL (70's ranch) I used very simple doors with a single light. Here's they are as a pair:

I also used a single just like this with frosted glass between my bathroom and outdoor hot tub area. If I had stayed in that house, my plan was to do the same thing at the front entry, also because the foyer was like a cave (recessed entry) and I wanted to bring more light into the house.

Something cottagey, which implies to me at least four lites at the top and a solid bottom. I would not go w/ fiberglas, if you can afford another price point up. There are some great MDF products out there. Or, solid wood. It's almost impossible to find true solid wood anymore (most are filled), but it's worth it, imo.

We have fiberglass doors and are very happy with them. The builder said they would be better for us due to warping. After 10 years, they are like new. We had the front door stained, and it did look real. I recently painted it, and like that look, also. Ours are solid because the sun shines right on them all day in the summer and a window would be too bright inside. Instead, we have a small arched window above the door.

I found this link that lets you change out doors. I like the door with the oval window.
