I vote for B - love the texture that it brings to the room.

I like privacy, so vote for A (plus I do think it looks better). If the rest of your room was sort of Bombay Store-ish with elephant foot side tables and brass trays, etc., I might go for B, but the room isn't like that and I like A better.

I like A. It gives texture but I think will work better since you have some refined pieces in that room.

I like B...with the flap on top.

I'm on the fence as well and I don't believe you can make a bad decision in this case.

The 'A' seems to contrast nicely with the thicker weave of the bar stools and its finer texture seems to offset the larger, looser patterns in your pillows and rug...so I guess, A!

But I really like 'B' too, lol

Both look good. Depending on what look you are wanting in your room. A to me is more formal, B is definatley more casual looking.

Natal, I prefer no cords, however the "roman shades" that are cord-free are only available in the fabric option. I looked at dark brown, but then decided that perhaps I prefer the shades with more texture.

I bought cordless woven shades at Smith & Noble last year. So did someone else on this forum. How bizarre that they no longer carry them.

I would probably vote for A. My only other thought is that, with seeing several different rooms at one time, there's already a great deal going on in terms of color and texture. If they're available I would choose blinds that are the same color as the door trim so that they disappear, rather than having some more large areas of color that may give the room too much of a busy look.

For Design longetivity I like A better.

BUT I would go for B. It seems to have more texture and your room has a lot of texture.

I've just received an email from Overstock about a 20% off sale and their blinds like these are included. You might want to check what they have first.
Between the two you have I'd prefer "A" as I've seen both styles in person and didn't care for the ones with the bulky twig in them.

I agree with those above that both would be fine, but I vote for A, with less texture. To my eye you already have lots of great textures, and contrasts in texture, in the room. I don't think you need to add more texture.

Yet another vote for A. I agree with Ingrid and Susanka, you already have a lot of texture going on. It's a very nice warm room.

I like B better. It makes a bolder statement and looks "happier" to me.

A is neater. I think it combines rustic and refined.

We just finished painting a bedroom and I'm looking for a couple cordless shades for that room. Since S&N no longer carries them in their woven woods line I went searching. Turns out Kirsch makes them and our local Penney's carries them. You can do a dealer search if you're still in the market.

i like a better for your room, but you also have to know how much light you want to block and the level of privacy you want...
if you open and close them everyday and use mostly for privacy, 'a' would definitely be the better choice, but if you leave them closed alot to filter light, you might want a sheerer shade---might want to look at more woven wood styles. (i'm not as crazy about the casual/multitone look of b in your room)

I like A, the tighter weave just looks cleaner to me.

Although I love the look of B I'd go with A. No one has mentioned this, but B will attract a lot more dust, and be much harder to clean. Dust rags will snag on the twigs.

I am all about dust when I pick out something. I choose the item that will be easier to clean (unfortunately, I didn't do that when I chose my wood stain blinds. They show more dust than the white would have.) Lamps, stair spindles, light fixtures, mirrors, cooktop, etc...

I vote for A (although late...lol). Shade B is for a more rustic room with its rougher texture. Shade A gives a nice balance of texture and refinement, which you have in your room.

But you can easily convert corded door shades like this into cordless shades.

Step 1: Remove the cords.

Step 2: Next if there are screw eyes at the top of the mounting board, you open those up to form cup hooks and point the open side towards the back of the shade. (If no screw eyes, then add a 1 x 2 board underneath your shade and add some screw eyes or cup hooks to the bottom of the board.)

Step 3: Sew small plastic rings to each point where the cords previously attached to the shade.

Step 4: Simply hook the rings to the cup hooks to raise your shade. You can raise the shade by hooking about 3 sets of rings...and get some interesting looks by which sets of rings that you hook.

This method works great for roman shades on doors. Keeps the little ones and pets from getting caught in cords.
