gas condensing furnace

I just recently bought a house with a carrier condensing gas furnace( please keep in mind I worked for a lp gas company for 15 years as a pipefitter and we hooked up many of these units and test fired them however I am not a service tech) My furnace would not come on, the purge fan would run but that is all it would do. I took the cover off and discovered a dead mouse and his bedding in the pvc intake to the burner area, I cleaned it out( what I could see of it without actually cutting the pvc pipe) thinking that was the problem. The furnace still will not come on though unless I have the burner compartment door off. Also the plastic nipple that comes off the burner compartment, I have to disconnect the pressure switch tubing from that and plug it off with my finger and the furnce will start right up. My question is this, would you think there is more bedding from the mouse in the intake partial blocking entrance of combustion air, or is the pressure switch bad.

Thanks for your help
