Is this complicated for base cabinets? I was told it is.

Got an estimate of 12,000 from a well-known to GW and highly regarded online cab maker for our base cabs. When I asked what accounted for the (to my mind)priciness, I was told it was a complicated design and that I might think it wasn't but "trust me, it is".

I need 11 frameless base cabs, stained or just clear depending on the wood we ultimately choose:

24" 4DB (4-6-10-10)
18" DW panel
30" apron SB
24" 3DB 6-12-12
9" tray base
36" lazy susan
36" wide x 30" deep 3 drawer base (6-12-12
30" drawer/door cabinet
18" prep sink base
36" 4DB (5-5-10-10)
15" trash/pullout (the most complicated as I requested 2 way glides so it can be accessed from both sides of the peninsula. It would need to be frameless inset and the box would need to be deeper by the depth of the doors so it didn't look 'stepped back'.)
and finally,
5-3" wide fill pieces

That's it. I asked for the estimate in knotty alder with a medium stain. Is that really 12,000 worth of base cabs in plywood? That we still put together ourselves and pay 800.00 for shipping?

I go to Barkers and punch in the same thing (other than the specialty trash cab) and it comes to just over 4,000 with free shipping. In knotty alder and plywood, etc.

What could be the reason I was told this was 'complicated'?
Can't say I like that answer with no specifics... just 'trust me, it is'.
