We are responsible for our pets lives & sometimes for their death. We tell people not to hold on to your pet for you when they do not have a good quality of life. They do not know a tomorrow & that what they are doing through will not last forever. How would you like to think you would be in pain forever? Animals can hurt a lot & not show it because they don't want to appear weak to something stronger. It is very hard but staying with your faithful friend at the end is one of the last kind things you can do for them. Most vets will let you stay with & hold & comfort your pet after the final shot has been administered. In most cases, they just go to quietly to sleep & don't wake up again (but there are exceptions). I have bawled & blubbered over my animals (& my vet who is a sweetie) many times. Go ahead & cry if you feel like it, it's nothing to be embarrassed about when you love your pet that much. My Newf Abby is almost 11 & I am dreading the day I will have to make a difficult decision about her. It really sucks that your sister has a whole box of her own problems to worry about too. Linda

I agree with you, Oak. I did..do..love the cards that contain a letter with some photos to see like you mentioned. But I have always loved cards, silly cards or pretty cards. And just knowing someone took the time to pick out the card and write a few lines always has meant a lot to me. The cards with the name imprinted on them, and the photo cards seem to say "we're too busy for this". In fact, both my DD and my DDIL do the photo cards because they ARE extremely busy. I do understand that being the case these days. I just don't have to like it. LOL. Like Bleigh said, sometimes its physically hard to sit and do a stack of cards properly. Or at least the way I want to do them, with a short personal note and not just a signature. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even do my cards this year. I'd bought a box of them several weeks ago, and then with the decorating taking 3 wks and now Dad this week, the box just didn't even get opened. I sent a special one to my MIL in FL as we always do, and one to my very best friend in the world in OK. But looks like no one else is even getting a real card from me this year. I feel terrible about that. hugs, Karen I think a lot of folks have stopped sending them, maybe the economy? I've only gotten a few this year myself.

Momrox......too great minds work alike...ha,ha! I borrowed my DD's dishes....I got rid of mine...I do not have room to store dishes that only gets used once a year and never dreamed I would do another Christmas Home Tour...but this is the last......unless they have one for a nursing home room...LOL
