We have the Dickinson and have been very happy with it. But, Johnliu really did say it best. After drooling over the Rohl I realized I didn't want to shred my nerves over a sink or anything else anymore. I've seen 30 year old cast iron sinks that lived in households with 5 kids and they looked fine. DH all by himself can be the equivalent of 5 kids in the kitchen so I figured I was okay with the Dickinson. Bottom line, I guess, is "know thyself" (as well as the habits of others who will use the sink) and choose accordingly.

Thank you rubyvine for your post. I appreciate your interest in my sink. It is beautiful and I was hoping someone could use it. I am surprised that your cab guys can't make the change... My husband works with a cabinet guy that said just removing the drawer front on the sink base and creating a support for the sink's weight is all it would take. But I am sure your guys have their own reasons. Thanks again!

Thank you for your advice! I was worried about it being dated too soon, and I got voted down by hubby. Oh well, the plain ones are nice too! More versitile, since I don't know any other details yet. (It's new build, and haven't had design apt. yet, just trying to figure out things I like and don't). I do know I am not going with the standard undermount ss double bowl. I like single bowl, and not ss. I have ss and it is a pain. I really like some of the white kitchens I have seen on here, but worried that would be dated soon also. Most likely would go with a med-dark cabinets, maybe creamy gold brown granite, and maybe dark wood floors, but who knows. It all depends on the 'standard' and upgraded options etc. At least granite and 42 inch cabs w/crown and wood floors are standard. Thanks again!

Thank you for all the wonderful pictures and advice - it is so helpful to see examples of the SS apron sinks installed in real kitchens. akchicago was correct about the design - the Tuscan inspiration is driving the color choices for the walls and cabinets (or vice versa, not really sure - lol) and some small elements like the range backsplash but since this is a work in progress we could change course at any time! Tuscan is just the closest I can come to putting a name on what I'm picturing in my head. And to put things in perspective, this house is very rundown. It was built in 1950 and when the original owners died it became a rental property for many years. We're not concerned with resale in the current state this house is in - any update to the kitchen will be an improvement. If this house was sold, as is, today, it would be sold at property value probably for no more than it would sell for if there was no house here at all. It's one of the last original, un-renovated homes in the neighborhood and it hasn't been kept up. It needs to be completely remodeled or, more likely, rebuilt. Until that can happen we just want a kitchen that we are comfortable in and makes us happy :-). I'll post some "before" pictures when I figure out how to do that. And I'd LOVE to see more pics of SS apron sinks installed in real lived-in kitchens and faucet recommendations, these are awesome examples so far. Thank you so much!
