HVAC-upgrading gas furnace

Hi

IÂm looking for some feedback on quotes to replace my almost 30 year old carrier 125k BTU 80% gas furnace. The furnace has checked out okay during seasonal heating and AC check ups, but the federal/state rebates (up to $2500 total) make replacement a serious option, but I gotta finalize as the state money in PA is going fast! Bottom line is that I can move to a 95% high efficiency unit for a net cost of $2,000.

I am partial to Carrier since that is what is in place when I bought the house 12 years ago and there have been no problems. (The central AC is of like age and works fine, but I am looking to only do the furnace at this time.)

I have the following quotes:

1. Carrier Infinity 100k BTU furnace # 58MVC100-F-1-20 $4,350

2. Bryant 100k BTU 355CAVV060100 $5,150

3. Trane 100K BTU #TUH2C10 A9V4 $4,950

4. Lennox 91k BTU G61MPV 606-091 $5,458

All are 100K BTU (except for Lennox @ 91k BTU), all are 95% AFUE, all come with programmable thermostats and chimney liners. I was surprised that Bryant came in so high as I understand that it is the same equipment as Carrier, but supposedly at a lower price point.

Also, no one seemed interested in doing a load calculation, but appear to be working off the assumption that since we have no complaints about the adequacy of our current 125K @ 80% system, 100K @ 95% is close enough. Our house is about 2700 square feet and is of masonry construction from 1930.

Does anyone sell cause for concern on going to the 100K BTU 95% AFUE? Also, I am too focused on thinking that upgrading for $2,000 is too good to pass up and missing something?

Thanks!!
