Thanks for the replies! I've been reading a LOT since finding this site and I can tell I will be addicted. I would have to classify my compulsion to constantly improve my home's aesthetics as... ILLNESS, really! At the very least - obsession. I just wish I had enough rooms & money to accommodate all my ideas. :) Ok I admit, I'm already addicted to the threads for different colors in the gallery. :*) I don't have any pics handy, but my palette is rich earth tones, and I'm partial to natural fabrics and hand-made accessories. Wood is unfortunately not white. :( It's a light-medium oak with orange undertones. *sigh* I did finally find some pictures of Yorkshire Tan in action -- and in these pics I don't think it's too dark, but these rooms also have a lot more white in them than mine does. See the "afters" here. I may need to revisit the Benjamin Moore store and check out the color(s) higher on the strip, especialyl since this room only has two windows and they get onyl indirect light after sunrise... AND because I'm not a fan of white ceilings.

I don't have a picture handy nor did I use Clay Beige in a living room, but I did paint the main bathroom in my summer home Clay Beige. After many attempts at finding just the right color for the room, I selected Clay Beige and I love it. I know this is not the living room information you're looking for, but I thought I would provide you with my two cents--we love the color. It's a neutral with a clay/green cast--goes with many different colors.

Without seeing the floors, it’s very hard to say, but somewhere in this post you can see my wood look tiles in my bathroom which are gray and it looks awesome. I would recommend getting a sample and putting it up in the basement. Since I assume there is very little natural light, the tone will largely depend on your lighting. If your flooring has a warm gray tone to it, it will probably look great. If it has a bluish cool gray tone to it, you’d have to see how it looks side by side. Hope this helps a little! A few things: if you went to any paint store that sold Benjamin Moore and you asked them to make you something similar to Accessible Beige, they could -- A few similar colors that come up in Ben Moore's color system for accessible beige are: 1. Inner Balance (1522) 2. Stingray (1529) 3. Smokey Taupe (983) 4. Ice Formations (973) 5. Litchfield Gray (HC-173) You can try those colors first, but they vary just a little in terms of their undertones. Benjamin Moore's paints are usually recommended by contractors because of their smooth application, their dry times, and the amount of coating you need versus something from Home Depot (takes 3-4 coats and is thinner). Revere Pewter is nice, definitely on the warm side and a VERY popular home color.
