2 doors in bathroom; good or bad?
Comments (23)I hate bathrooms with two doors--that would be a real negative, from my point of view. It seems as if the wrong door is always the one closed, it's never clear if the room is occupied, and it just generally doesn't feel like a 'private space' to me when people can walk in from two different places. I visit family who have a bathroom with two doors--and I never really feel 'secure' when I'm showering--there are two doors, and the people in the bedroom don't always realize that there could have been someone who went in through the other door....See MoreThe good and the bad part 2
Comments (13)Sherry: Joan Derifield is canoeing on the sepal tips on the first FFO's. I'm not happy about it but I know it is a good plant so it stays. I'm dividing it this year as I have approximately 12 fans of it or more. I'm sending a couple to someone else on the forum for postage so if your interested in a couple of fans for postage, let me know. It won't be until late August/early September. I agree about the weather but El Desperado has done this in the past so that is why it is on the cull list....See MoreAttention KDs: Good kitchen design or bad?
Comments (45)Kitchen Place, we typically have 2-3 warranty calls a year. People come in with broken hinges, but they're usually on 30 year old cabinets. We still have some of those on hand, and we can get most of what we need from Richelieu. Sometimes the plastic piece that the drawer slide mounts to at the back of the cabinet breaks, but Merillat makes a piece to replace it even the older ones. The last warranty issue we had was from a five year old kitchen. The finish was wearing away around two knobs. The customer had cleaned her cabinets with something unusual and it was her fault, but we replaced them because the builder was our biggest client. Most of the in-warranty hinge/drawer slide issues we get are from abuse and the client usually admits some kind of (mostly) abuse or mistreatment. Many customers come in and say they "don't want a cheap cabinet." It seems that they're afraid they'll get some kind of cheapchinesecrapola cabinet. Telling them they have a 25 year or limited lifetime warranty puts that worry to rest....See MorePendant with a cloth cord for a kitchen island. Good idea or bad?
Comments (5)What color is the cord? I see it comes in several. Most likely, it wouldn’t be an issue. A few factors might be how open the kitchen is, ceiling height, how close to your cooktops, do you have pets, etc. I have lamps with cloth cords (one right next to my kitchen) and they don’t get any dirtier than regular cords. What I’d do is find every website you can that sells these and read reviews. Maybe people are mentioning the cords in kitchen settings....See Morechicagoans
