My new LG Wave Force washer Review
Comments (150)Dont you think that if they had left the machine alone it would still be fine today, other than the plastic squeak? I know as I said before that the old Calypsos had this type hanging system(and possibly GE) and I have heard the Calypso make the squeak and creak noise. As I told you before I hate to have something new with a "flaw" but I have also felt that sometimes I was too picky and would convince myself I needed to get it checked out only to be sicker(& madder)after service. A car for example, have a small rattle, carry in for service, they take half the car apart to fix it, then when you start home you no longer have that rattle, you have three more to go with it where they took things apart--now that is my luck--and I am thinking"Why on earth didnt I live with one small rattle but it is too late to back up then". Just go forward from here and I think I would try another one like you have. It seems like a great washer and you know that the LG made F/L didnt last you very long so maybe this next one will?. OH and about Sears using Electolux now instead of LG for front-loaders, I have always been told it depends on who bid the cheapest to build them. Not sure if that is true but I have heard that. Maybe you need to start looking for the 57 Lady Kenmore!...See MoreLG TROMM Owners - L/R Question
Comments (2)Thanks - it went in just fine. I got braided steel encased hoses, 72" - which were about 6" too short... Had to pick up a couple more short hoses with a female-female connector. It's cycling now for the first time, and everything looks good. My wife and I have been looking into the tub with a flashlight. The discharge line was long enough, and I strapped it to the edge of the utility tub. With the riser/storage drawers, the units fit under the overhead cupboard with fractions of an inch to spare! Glad I checked specs on the pdf file and double checked by measuring floor units! We purchased at Best Buy on Sunday at about 2:00 PM, for next day (today) delivery. Got a call at about 8:00 PM to let us know that delivery would be between 7 & 8 AM (!). Truck pulls up at about 7:45. Old units removed and new ones installed before 9 AM. The lead installation guy really knew his stuff and did a quick, clean job. Got a call from delivery control right at 9 AM to confirm that delivery was made and that everything was OK. Delivery guy told us that we have 30 days to return for something else if we don't like them (Hmmm, the red looks really hot!) Direct TV and Verizon have a whole lot to learn from Best Buy when it comes to customer satisfaction and quality control....See MoreNeed cleaning tips for my Asko washer
Comments (19)Sorry sshrivastava, I have been checking back for responses on another post in this forum, but not this one. Thanks for your tips. I have just received my box of Bi-O-Kleen over the weekend and have done maybe 4 loads of laundry so far. My problem now is that the detergent doesn't completely rinse out of the dispenser and the Asko manual doesn't recommend that you use any detergent that doesn't completely rinse out. So I posted a question and someone responded about residual moisture in the drawer and drying it out before putting in the powder. I still have some clumpy powder, but it seems to be getting less. I have increased the temperature for my washes and now wash my daughter's clothes on the normal cycle at 120 degrees and mine and my husbands clothes at 140. The towels and sheets usually get a 160 or 175 degree washing. There aren't a lot of stains on the adult clothes (colors anyway) to notice a huge difference, so I'm really waiting to see how the whites come out after a couple of washes with the Bi-O-Kleen premium! Thanks for all of your tips!...See MoreLG demands Germany's Miele stop using its washer technology
Comments (16)There have been several manufacturers that sprayed detergent over the clothes while spinning - Hoover 8 Pulse, Whirlpool Catalyst and the Electrolux JetSystem from the 80s come to mind. Steaming from underneath the drum seems the preferred method these days; at least in the US - steam washers don't get too much attention over here. I don't think this could possibly be patented as most manufacturers do it this way. Miele's steaming method is pretty smart. Their PowerWash 2.0 washers have been the first washers in years to combine the highest energy efficiency, yet heat the clothes up to the selected temperature. Normally, our Energy Label cycles "Cottons Eco 140°F" only heat to about 120°F to save electricity. LG's Eco cycle even stops heating at below 80°F and extends this cycle's duration to over four hours to compensate for the lack in thermal energy....See Moreregus_patoff
