LG Washer Ownersr, Tell Me About Your Prewash

I currently own an LG W/D that is about 6-7 years old. Never had a problem, but there is one thing I REALLY dislike, and that is the pre-wash cycle. When set to the Normal or Cotton/Heavy cycle, the prewash fill with little water and the recirculation pump does not run. Therefore, it rarely more than dampens the clothes. When it enters the regular part of the cycle, it recirculates the water and all the clothes achieve wetness.

With 2 young boys and the endless amount of dirt they collect, I NEED a pre-wash cycle that really works.

There is nothing wrong with the unit, it's just how LG programmed the cycles.

So here is the interesting part... I was in my local appliance store today and they have a wild cherry (not my first choice of color) WM3001 Washer/Dryer combo for $1600. Not a closeout or S-N-D, they just bought a lot of them and are stuck. Pretty tempting, huh?

So my question is for newer LG owners... if you select a pre-wash options, does it adequately wet the clothes? does the recirculation pump run during the pre-wash?
