Question for those with the painted islands about durability

I have a question about durability of the paint finishes.

We are going for stained perimeter cabinets but I would love to have the island painted in a cream color and use the same color for two corner dining room cabinets which are right next to the kitchen.

But is it a good idea from the practical standpoint? How well do painted islands withstand the daily use?

The island will have a seating area which is going to be used multiple times per day for sure. It will also have a prep sink and a wall oven and serve as a primary prep area.

We have both while and cream furniture in kids' bedrooms which is all good quality stuff but i don't find the paint finishes on them to be durable enough, there is definitely a need to touch up here and there. It doesn't bother me in kids rooms but i would not be happy with the same look in our open kitchen.

For a reference point, we are going with good quality custom cabinets but not very high end (Elm cabinets which are local here in NJ).
