I think I have decided on a master bedroom set. WDYT?
Comments (44)Lauren, Thanks for posting again. I understand since I get so busy myself and I am glad we all helped you giving you insight and finding out that the furniture you like at least is made in the USA and is very beautiful. When you have time, please update up and if you buy the set, pictures please. Remember to measure your room and areas that have vents and windows and see how each peace of furniture will fit in your room. I wish my room was bigger since I really wanted a wooden bed with a headboard and foot board and a triple dresser but these pieces would not fit into my bedroom space. When I have time, I also will take updated pictures of my beautiful bedroom since the accessories of the right lamps (went with crystal), blind and curtains really changed the look of my room making me love my bedroom's peaceful retreat space....See Morefinally! (I think) fabric with blues and brown
Comments (12)Thanks for the link jejvtr, I love looking at their fabrics but, to date, haven't found a blue/brown combo there that isn't spa blue or aqua. (I'm stuck on sky if I can find it.) S&N does have some really great blue and white jacobean or provencal prints, so I may use those if I can't find the sky blue, indigo and brown combo. lmhall2000: That's such a great color that you shouldn't have any problem finding fabric. It does look like the above fabric would look wonderful with it. Is Woodlawn the same color as the spa and chocolate toiles? Here's something from Ballard. (It might have been outdoor fabric): I was looking at this to upholster some chairs in a different room. It's called Providence Seaside but can't remember where it's from: And this is another blue, tan and chocolate paisley: I haven't purchased swatches of any of these so I'm kind of at the mercy of my monitor. I have more on my computer but not yet in photobucket. I'll look through those later although you can probably tell by now that I favor the jacobean and paisley fabrics--which might not be your style....See MoreNow that I have [X], I think I could have lived without it.
Comments (135)-Prep sink. This may be useful in a multi-cook household or a huge kitchen, but I hardly ever used the one I had and it was just once more thing to clean. -Garbage disposal. My worms do a much better job, don't take up electricity and never smell or require cleaning. -Fancy multi-function toaster, oven, rotisserie, pizza, etc. Does nothing well. -Trash can with a motion sensor. Everyone I know who has one has them break in under a year. Mine only took 4 months to break. A foot pedal is much more reliable and a lot cheaper to replace. -Stainless steel sink. What a pain to clean. You can call it patina, butafter a while they don't look clean no matter what you do. (The one in my apartment right now looks positively foul no matter how much Barkeeper's Friend you use.) Of course cast iron will eventually chip and I don't know if the granite composite sinks will stand the test of time -Range-top grill. Only pay for these if you have a bodacious vent system and no way to have an outdoor grill. They are better than the George Foreman-like grills but not a patch on a decent outdoor gas grill or charcoal. ---- As for sink tip-outs... since discovering them I have knocked the front panel off every sink in every home I've rented or owned and installed these. In the bathroom they are perfect for the tweezers and nail files and such. In the kitchen, the sponges, scrubbers, stoppers and the toothbrush you use for cleaning around the faucet plate are neatly hidden away but close at hand. Love 'em!...See MoreI think I need more suds... What do y'all think?
Comments (10)I know they tested detergents In 75F water because they said that was the temp people would likely find in today's washers. Still, testing 8 pounds of clothes seems to be off the mark considering most machines hold more than that. If a machine can clean 8 pounds in a cycle that may not mean it can clean 13 or 15 pounds in the same cycle. Better information can be found in this forum than In CR....See Morelarsi_gw
