How's this? I have the JSI catalog, but there isn't much that I could easily find for building this. If you built it yourself and could just get face frames and doors from them, you'd be golden.

I was thinking I would go for a more furniture item look to break it up from the cabinetry and also maybe a different painted finish, atleast on the bottom half anyways.

Why not just put some glass doors on in the middle, take out the very middle door to be open and freshen the hardware? You may not want to throw the baby out with the bathwater on this one...

That Willowbrook one is stunning. I love the cabs, counters and especially the floor detail which is simple but oh so pretty.

I have a black hutch in the hallway between the kitchen and laundry room. It's the first thing you see when you come in from the garage. Storage on top, counter with small sink (we never use) and storage below.

Can you tell me where the two pieces you posted came from? DD2 is looking for something for her kitchen to store plus area for microwave. Thanks.

Let me be the first to burst the bubble. If you have open slat shelves up on legs, particularly in the way you show where the slat shelf is low -- how will you clean it?

Got pets? Anything low in a hallway will be a dust magnet but it gets a lot worst with pet hair mixed in.

What do you want to keep here? How much will be things you want to see and how much is possibly important, but not so wonderful to look at?

If you keep things with a lot of use, will open cabinet doors tie up that hallway? If its as narrow as it looks, how comfortable will it be to pull out baskets?

If you have something with a countertop or heavy moldings, you'll pretty much have just wall cabinets or wall cabinets plus about an inch of depth.

I had clipped this as an inspiration pic two years ago. You want the space to be like the table on the left, but you actually have the depth of the construction on the right.

I don't have pets so that isn't an issue for me and I would probably use my swiffer to get underneath like I do other pieces of furniture in my home.

It would be used probably less than it is now once the kitchen is done. The left area holds all my canned/boxed goods and the middle is all my pans/bake ware. They will be relocated after the reno.
