Other than I'm tired of dull and dreary skies, nothing much to report on here today. I got some bills paid to mail tomorrow, balanced my ckbk, went through some papers to shred, have a pot of great northern beans on. Will have them with some leftovers from fridge for my supper. I have talked with a couple of my sisters. I'm taking Dairy Queen to Annie in the home tomorrow.....she got a gift card from there for Christmas. One of my sisters wants to meet me there so we can go through her closet/drawers to see what needs tossed, etc. We've noticed they're wearing mostly short sleeved tops on her, so will have to do our usual of 'hiding' all but the winter ones. In the late spring, we have to hide her winter ones.

Didn't start out good. Icy roads again this morning. Came across a house fire on my way to work. Dozens of emergency vehicles blocking the roads. Get to work and DH calls and said they found a body floating in the lake at the beach a few blocks from my office. (Where we used to walk Conway every day) Unidentified male, appears to have been in his 70's, apparently committed suicide. *really sad*
My help didn't show up (again) today. This afternoon is just dragging. I have nothing thawed out for dinner and no clue what to make.
Calgon, take me away.

Pouring rain here today. 2nd day of a week's worth of storms with another inch due today, and again tomorrow, and then the big storm hits Thursday. Then the following week, we do it all over again. Hope the hillsides don't slip. What goes up, must come down; spinning wheel, round and round...

I went through the freezer to see what I could turn into some nice, hot, aromatic soup, and I have chicken soup almost made. I am letting the chicken cool so I can pull the meat apart for a late lunch.

Now I need to figure out how to use some sweet Italian sausage as the meat for my next homemade soup. It will take a week to work through the chicken soup, so I have time to figure this one out. Should be some kind of beans, it seems to me.

Then at that point I think the freezer will be empty of meats to offer up for homemade soups.

Sure wish DH liked noodles or rice in soups. I put rice in the chicken soup anyhow, just not as much as I would like. But I guess I will just have to cook noodles separately for future soups and add them to my soup bowl only.

Very hard water class! Instructor made up for our day off due to MLK's birthday.

Had a fantastic tuna on rye at Johnny Rockets.

Nothing productive coming from this house today. Cleaned so much yesterday that I only have the two baths and our bedroom to finish--and the rest of the week to do it.

I'm making beef stew for dinner. It has potatoes, celery, carrots and onions in it so we'll just have some hard rolls to go with it. It's smelling really nice in here.

Glenda, I don't envy you all the ironing. I know the trip will be worth it, but ironing is such a PITA to me!!

Drove to work in a blizzard and it looks like my drive home will be the same. It took me about an hour and twenty minutes to get to work where it normally takes me 45 minutes. Thank goodness for books on cd!
Work has been pretty good. It could go by a bit faster and I wouldn't complain! :0)

Nothing much....made hotel reservations for stops on the trip down to Fla next month and for a few days in colonial Williamsburg, Va in May.

Didn't get to leave the house, spent a fortune, exterminator, new water heater, dogs groomed. What an exciting life I lead some days! Organized my shoes:)

Didn't get a whole lot done today--other than worry, and talk on the phone with DD for a couple of hours. A family friend was testifying in court today, in a very disturbing case. We were tied up in knots for those involved. Luckily, things went as well as they possibly could, but it was a long day waiting, worrying and hoping until we heard the outcome.

Otherwise, I got on the road early heading to our country house. Cleaned the oven, worked on a rug I'm making. Organized some. Now, just playing on here, waiting for DH to call.

Well, my day started at 3:30 am, because my dogs woke me up and I didn't get to sleep afterwards. Then, I went to work. I was off yesterday, and when I went in, I got a bit of a surprise. I got through the busy day, came home and jumped on the treadmill and then into the tub. Right after we finished dinner, my little 3 pound puppy had a seizure!! I'd never seen a dog have a seizure before and it was traumatic. We've been babying her all night, and will take her to the vet in the morning. She seems comfortable and back to her old self now. My poor baby!!

And I've been broke since Christmas
