I love the first pendant but with brushed rather than polished finish. In fact, I'm looking at something similar for my island. But may I ask what style is your kitchen - traditional, vintage, contemporary? Cabinet finish, countertops, etc also would probably help others weigh in :) Jen

Depends on what your kitchen looks like. I'm not a fan of the acorn/schoolhouse thing, but in the right space I like them. Anyways, need more info! :)

Me? I like the school house one more. They're very different stylistically. Do you have any inspiration photos? Other fixtures you've already chosen? Like advertguy2/hulaGalJ said, it's tough to make any decision in a vacuum.

The two styles are very different so I'm with advertguy - it depends on your space and what style or look you want. The Kichler is more contemporary than the Hudson.

If you post some pictures (cabinet style, hardware) that could help.

If your kitchen is contemporary #2, if it's traditional #1 (although I don't like that light in general), if it's transitional #2, because I don't like the first light in general.

A lot depends on where you are using these and your overall kitchen style. I am not a fan of a mini schoolhouse pendant believing that these fixtures look better in the larger sizes.

Whoa....really different styles. I agree with blfenton that if your kitchen is contemporary, #2. But I LOVE schoolhouse styles...I think they're a graceful classic shape and would definitely opt for the Hudson Valley light if your kitchen is either traditional or transitional. I have to say I like them both but I would want to
