Lots of pouring rain outside my window, unfortunately. Cold, cold rain. It's only 34 degrees. I live in a little bubble east of Wash DC that often misses all the storms that hit us just 15 miles to the north and/or 40 miles to the west. Today, the snow missed us again. I had to drive my girls to get a haircut about 30 minutes awayâ¦it was pouring slush! Then while there (she lives north of me just south of Baltimore), it turned to snow and it was really coming down but not really sticking b/c the ground was too warm. Drove home and it's just been pouring here all day though it seems to have slowed.

Worst kind of weatherâ¦cold rain! I'd much rather have snow! But at least it makes for a good day to stay inside and prepare for Thanksgiving.

DH stayed home today & worked out of the kitchen. He just came in from shoveling and says limbs are starting to break because the snow is so heavy & wet.

AWM, that is a gorgeous photo. The golden leaves against the white of snow and charcoal brown of the trees. Just beautiful. Frame worthy in my house!

It is snowing again here! :) part of the back yard.....

We had a massive snow drift on the front porch.

But the trees looked pretty this morning. My part of New Hampshire wasn't quite as badly hit as the rest, although about 6,000 people lost power last night because it was a thick, heavy, wet snow.

About 40 miles north of mtnrdredux, we had just snow. I was sad to see my birch out back look like this -

And while I was making the dinner for my friend Jimmy to take to his father and grandmother 2.5 hours north, he was snow blowing paths and the driveway for me. Thank-you, Jimmy! He also gently knocked the snow off the birch for me, and it bounced back, but I lost a Japanese Maple planted this fall.

Yes I work there. I pretty much missed the entire storm, I work 24 hour shifts. It was done when I left on thanksgiving morning.
