Best store(s) to purchase Tomato Cages, Pro-Mix BX & Perlite?
Comments (4)I live in Northern Ontario, but I'll weigh in anyway. $25 is a good price for promix BX, so I don't think I'd look elsewhere. I pay $27 for mine. As for tomato cages I'd get the heaviest ones I could find and damn the price. The thin ones won't last more than a year or 2. We have heavy guage ones that we have been using for 30 years and are worth every penny we spent on them. Perilite I have't bought since I started using Promix, which was years ago. Promix has everything a plant needs to grow....See MoreHow best to store Iris seed
Comments (2)I store mine in envolopes, then put the envelopes in a shoebox. I used to put them in dixie or styrofoam cups, then into a box and leave on the patio, but after the wind, cats or possums knocked over the box, the seeds stay inside the house now. Before planting some people soak seeds to re-hydrate and to wash off the inhibiter, some refrigerate first, some plant in pots and water, some are experminating with planting green seed....See MoreHow To Best 'Store' an Unused Car
Comments (4)Also a good idea to put some "gas stabilizer" in your fuel tank and run the engine so it circulated through the fuel system. Gas sitting for for any length of time can turn gummy and can foul the fuel system over time. With fuel injection systems this is even more critical. Gas Stabilizer is not expensive and works very well. I store my old classic car for several months each winter and use stablizer in the tank and carb. Never had a fuel related problem. Also use it in my motorhome and lawnmower....See MoreBest way to wash a vintage wool afghan?
Comments (6)Why would you wash a wool afghan any less often than you would wash a wool sweater? I suggest you put it into your washer, fill with cold water and some very mild detergent....half a cup of baby shampoo is good. Then just jounce it up and down by hand.......spin out the dirty water....refill the washer jounce it more to rinse and spin out. Don't agitate in the washer, but use it to spin out the afghan....a wet blanket is sometimes hard to handle! and spinning gets rid of lots of the water....See Morenodakgal
