That's funny, because according to that site a Libby and Tina live at my house. I get their mail from time to time but I don't know who they are. So, not sure all those names are correct. I do know a couple of my neighbors but not most of them.

It doesn't work very well for me most likely because there is no mail service in our town - most people have PO Boxes and most people are renters too (if this info was pulled from property records).

It did confirm what my 8 year old informed me - we live just a couple of doors down from the mayor!

It is funny! And not terribly accurate. Some of the names are right but not in the right spots. They might be as much as a block off. And they have our next door neighbor (on our side of the street) listed as living directly across the street with his wife plus some other guy that I've never heard of! It's interesting though! It does have my husband and I listed as residents of our house though, with my name as it was before we were married 3 1/2 years ago!

Vastly inaccurate! I actually know 80% of my close neighbors because this is a small remote neighborhood.

They had the 3 dead neighbors (all died 10 or more years ago) listed, and missed the 5 new houses built in the past 7 or 8 years ago.

Ha! It has relatives who have never lived in my house (in fact live several STATES away), it lists my son who has been out of the house , married, and also lives 1000 miles away since 1994, and lists a phone number none of us have EVER had. Not too accurate.

They list my step-daughter, who has never lived with us, as one of the residents in my house. In fact, she lives in another state. Now I know why we occasionally get junk mail for her! It is an entertaining website though.

Very informative. I was happy to see that my phone number didn't come up since it's unlisted. But almost all the information for my neighborhood is correct. It's interesting that it also lists children and thankfully mine are all adults and living away from home because I wouldn't be too thrilled to see young children listed.

And it helped me with the new neighbors who moved in two houses away. The wife introduced herself to my husband with one surname and then a month later I met her and she gave me a different surname. Since both surnames were listed I know know which one is her DH's which one is hers.

I agree that some things are inaccurate. But I did just learn the name of a neighbor down the street that I've been on nodding terms with for the last 3 years!

I still get junk mail for one of my DS's old girlfriends both in her real name and her "married" name. They were never married but apparently she used our last name for something. LOL

Occasionally we get mail to someone we don't even know. That goes back to the days when DS lived here and let some friends use us as a mailing address.

I also get mail for my DD who hasn't lived here in 14 years. Longer if you count the college years.

So even though this has only been our immediate family's home for almost 35 years you would think it was a halfway house for transients. LOL

I tried the link, but this is all that I got.....

We're sorry, but something went wrong.
We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.

I did it and it was mostly accurate, for quite a few blocks around me. Yep, there were a couple names that were from a few years ago, but most were current.

I that is cool, it worked for me. I even copyed it so I wouold have the names & numbers of my neighbors.
Thanks for posting.

Interesting went back to where we use to live it is amazing to see how things have changed..Thanks mostly accurate.

This is interesting...but apparently my husband lives here alone and I don't even know where I live...HEEHEE! Funny because I own the house, he does not. I guess it goes by phone service names?

We live on a cu-d-sac of 20 homes, the info is pretty right on, except they have me listed with two different names, the one I've gone by my whole life, and the one only my grandmother used to call me. :-)

Jodi-

Thanks for sharing this site! It was very interesting. I discovered that my surgeon lives just a few houses down from us! Of course, in our area, that means almost a mile away....

I went snooping on my daughter's boyfriend using Refdesk and a street search, I knew exactly where he lived but not his last name or phone number. So I tried to look him up from the address and got zero information. They are still together, she's lived with him for 2 years and I still don't know his last name or phone.

Interesting site. My road is 10 miles long & it did not list one of the cows who live on this road. There are only 3 houses on this street but we do not live here. Oh yes been here 14 years.

Might be a couple years out of date in my neighborhood, but mostly accurate!

jannie, does the boyfriend own the property? If so you might find his name and phone on the county property tax records. In my state they are public and online.

I think this is the same one I have. Pretty neat some addreses are ten years old but still it is pretty accurate. I like that you can view your house

I tried 12 different addresses in 3 different states...all but one were grossly wrong...

According to the information they present my mother is living in the barn on my sisters farm....LOL

My neighborhood is only 3-4 years old. They show the roads before it was paved. It is somewhat accurate. I guess the police officers must have a way of keeping their names out of the records.

Not operational - working on it, they say.

Well now, isn't that cool! Fairly accurate for me, and I live 8 miles from town.

(It didn't know that my son has moved away to go to college, though - if it knew that, it would be downright scary! cue in the music to The Twilight Zone . . . . )

It is surprisingly accurate for this neighborhood, have not found any that were 100%. But now I know the address of the idiots that keep burning stuff outside in the middle of the summer when we are in a major drought with zero burn allowances. The whole area would go up like a bonfire.

I entered my address and the arrow was pointing to my house but, for some reason, the street number was incorrect and I never heard of who is supposed to be living there!

Very accurate on our street....it is short and almost everyone has lived here forever.

It's very incomplete and dated for our Maui condo complex, showing only 78 units out of 310. It lists a lot of former neighbors along with current ones for our former and current homes in Chicago suburbs. The aerials are at least five years out of date for our current home neighborhood.

Jannie -- If the BF owns the house, you might find information online from the county assessor's office. You can usually search by address.

I would think any places that change owners often would likely be less current.
I still get mail for various previous owners here too so was surprised that it had us listed here, we have only been here a couple years.

I need to try our old address see what happens.

The accuracy depends on where this site collected its addresses. Since personal security became a concern, a lot of open information has been closed. Seven years ago, I could do a white page search on my surname and find 50 people living in the US. Many of these are relatives, some I recognize, and others I have not connected to yet in my genealogy search. (My surname is relatively rare making this a ahndy search.) Nowadays, much of that informtion has been shut off.

Some places they may have gotten names is magazine sales lists. Other sources is by someone citing you as a refernce. Then, there are cases where someone is hiding his true identy and used your address to establish a recognition for himself. There are others who maliciously referred your name to a sales list, even going so far as to order a magazine that send out the firt copy free and a bill for the subscription.

Other inaccuracies may occur due to old data. That is especially the case where properties have been sold and bought several times in a 10 yr period.

I tried the site tonight and it was our of order. From what I gather from other comments, it has many errors and is not dependable.

Whoa! I have strangers living in my current residence! Should I notify the police?

I tried this and it showed 7 homes near me and their owners' names. Unfortunately, though- there are no homes or buildings there at all and it didn't show any of the actual homes that do exist nearby. The people they listed don't even own the property for the "house" that was shown. lol I live way out in the woods, though, so I imagine places like ours don't take priority when it comes to accuracy.

I did enjoy looking at our house from the aerial view, though. Our place is a tiny dot in a sea of trees.
