We're getting ready to insulate our basement and then we'll be working on finishing the rooms one by one starting with the gym.

Any advice you can think to give me about layout before we start? Anything you wish you'd of done different in yours? I know we'll be adding a closet behind the stairs and they'll be a section that just has the freezer, HVAC, water heater (pump, tank? big blue thing I can't remember what it is or is for), water softener.

We have a walk out door.
