Are you like me Jane and have mild winters? Even so, I am not ready for winter. I like it to be cold for the holidays, then I am ready for Spring! LOL

Today in Vancouver, B.C. it is beautiful. The fall colours are starting to show with the reds, oranges and yellows. We've have clear sunny skies for the past 5-6 days and that should continue for the next few days so the fall show should be spectacular. Once the fall rains hit the show is done! Temps right now are about 40 F. in the morning and about 55F. in the afternoon. (I think - we use celsius and my celsius to fahrenheit conversion might be a little rusty) But we have crisp cool mornings (perfect for those early morning runs) and warm afternoons which are perfect for sitting outside for the afternoon coffee.

Tina, I loved this time of year up north with all the colors and such. But, living in this old house with four hundred a month heating bills it takes the fun out of fall. I do love all the beautiful foliage, looks like spun gold and flame reds.

We had a 2 week string of the MOST glorious autumn days - very summer like but better than summer because it hasn't been hot & humid! Almost 2 straight weeks of sun, the bluest skies, mid 70s days, mid 50s nights. Windows open all the time, soft breezes, and moonlit nights. I've been taking long walks with my dog, scuffling through leaves in flip flops, of all things!! Just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G for Chicago. However, that all came to a screeching halt! It's mostly sunny today, quite breezy, upper 50's and here at the lake we'll be in the low to mid 40's tonight - outlying areas could have frost!

Wow dlm your weather sounds like what we have had and have still. I know my best friend is in Sobeiski WS, north of Green Bay and he was still harvesting green beans and cherry tomatoes last week and had 80's every day too.

I mentioned on the other thread about gardening that I swam today in the pool !! COLD but fun...only did a 1/4 mile LOL. Sat in the hot sun after and felt great.

It is going to rain tomorrow and then get 50's. Will see what happens after that. We turned our air off and opened the windows back the first of Sept. and haven't had any heat/air on since or yet. So we are really saving on the gas/electric this year.

Jane I know what you mean about the old house and the cost. We have storms so that helps and the gas fireplaces help too. I keep saying I am going to have the heavy curtains..can't think of the name for them, made to cover the doorways...portieres...that is it...but so far I haven't done it. Anyone have them ???

Unfortunately, all of our Oaks and Maples suffered from the drought so their leaves won't put on a show this year. The Maples have already lost their's and they're the one's that really change color. :(

We had a very late & very short summer, and fall is acting kind of weird as a result. We'd had some rain, but this week is promising to be gorgeous...foggy in the AM, then SUNNY and warm the next few days (warm as in mid-70's). Over night lows are in the 40's.

Leaves are just starting to turn, and by the time they get really colorful, we usually start our rainy season, so we don't get that fun walk in the crispy leaves treat. It usually rains around Halloween.

We've had mostly a warm dry Fall. Too damn windy sometimes though....blows all the pretty leaves off too soon ;-(

Tonite, we'll tickle freezing temps. Most of the week, we'll maybe hit 50 during the day, with Friday maybe near 60!!

We are in the low 60s during the day and 30s at night. Oddly had a slight snow last week, very slight. I live at the base of the Rockies, the ski areas are getting a lot of snow. Last fall the leaves didn't change, they were frozen before turning. But this fall it is beautiful. Falling leaves feels like friends dropping by.

The last 2 years have been off from the norm. Little rain and snow. Winter brought enough snow to wet the roads for slick ice in mornings. I have to get going and finish a few outside projects before the mystery weather arrives.

Last night I had to put an extra blanket on the bed and today I'm wearing knee socks with shorts. Love it!

Burrr...it's cold where we are and these past few days, the winds were coming through at a pretty good clip. Leaves everywhere. Usually by this time the foliage is bright and pretty but this year it's very subdued. We're expecting a cold rain tonight and it's going to hang around for the next few days. I love fall, rain and all. :c)

Finally getting cooler weather after a summer of mostly high 90's! It was a brisk 71 degrees today and very breezy~~felt sooooo good! Now just need some rain. ;o)

We spent the past two days washing the house. Still have two sides to do, but they'll go much faster. It took a full day just to wash the screened porch. Cleaned a few windows too. Nice!

Brr...I was in the pool on Monday...water was 70 degrees. Then we got rain and a cold front. We are supposed to have FROST tonight. It is currently 44 !!

They say we will be back mid 70's by next week...that is my favorite temp. c

People who like "Coooool", just come up to Fargo this morning!!!
