CPAP machine - automatic decline major insurance carriers

Because my DH got laid off last week we have been looking at private insurance. If we get Cobra, it will be $20,000 yearly so was hoping there was something cheaper out there. And there was until we found out I am automatically disqualified because of my sleep apnea and the fact I use a CPAP machine. We are getting the information through an insurance broker and that is the case with the 12 biggest insurance carriers. I could see being declined if I had a life threatening disease, but not sleep apnea. I know it is quite common now.

Anyone know of an insurance carrier that you can get medical coverage with even with that condition?

Thanks.

Clare
