TA-DA! I finally settled on a color for my bakers table!

It's still dark out this morning...and I've only just started and quickly painted the front. Still have the rest of the table, light sanding, and maybe waxing. It may look better with some natural light but since I'm impatient; I wanted to show you all the color my table is going to be.

I hope you like it as I do!

I meant to say I did this last night and it was dry enough this morning to put the drawers back in! I am NOT a morning girl!

Thanks for all the well wishes! I will have to go over there this weekend and take pictures. It was so hot last weekend that I didn't feel up to doing anything. Bob cut down some branches on the neighbor's tree that was taking over our side yard. Hopefully they won't even notice. lol Lots of weeding to be done. There are some pretty hostas, the old standby orange daylilies and a pretty red barberry bush that is planted too close to the house in the front. I'm tempted to transplant it to the backyard but those dang prickers! Some kind of small tree needs to be cut down in the back. It's growing up right next to the house over the airconditioner. Bob and I were at HD looking at things for the house. I was looking at floor tile and when the clerk asked if he could help me, I said, "No, I'm just dreaming." lol Flooring, lighting, paint colors ... so much to do and so many selections to choose from! It is a bit overwelming.

Magpie...I'm laughing at what you said about your DH... mine didn't go along with it that eaisly at first. I had to convince him 'He Could Do It'... I told him how clever he was and knew he could...he did warn me quite a bit, that the glass could shatter. I WAS amazed in the end, that he succeded. I hope you and DH had a great fishing day. Sounds like a nice 'together' time. yachter...Yep...Kathleen will be making her way to her local CTS shop. Nothing gets past her...lol As far as those chocolate cupcake candles...when I go next time, I will look to see if they still have any left and will keep you in mind. They would look cute with your Chefs. OA...I've seen those chocolate bunnies in many stores.. They seem to be pretty popular this year. I first saw them last year in Home Goods, but now many other places. party music...keep the faith.. as I said to Luvs. Also, keep checking out the CTS site..they have a listing of where they are and future sites as well. MM...you should Register on Michael's site and have them email you their weekly sales AND coupons. This way, when you go, you can print out a current coupon. I do that, because they don't send a flyer to my area. Hi Marlene..Welcome. You don't want to 'Short Out' you PC with all the drool!! lol Glad you enjoyed my 'haul'! I didn't realize until I unpacked everything...how much SPRING I bought.. Guess, just like everyone else, I've had enough Winter already. Hope to hear more from you, and please join in and share any pictures that you have...We LOVE pictures, as you can tell by the responces to mine!! lol PUNK!! You've been missed! I know you've been busy and glad you had a chance to 'pop' in. Glad you enjoyed looking at everything. I don't think your tree will make me laugh...you are always too modest. Rosewitch, England was definitely one of my favorite places I have ever visited. My folks took me there when I was 14, and I remember bits and pieces the Crown jewels, walking amongst the Stonehenge stones (roped off now, vandalism), Stratford upon Avon. Time for me to take my own 14YO. Im trying to think how I can get over there for a whole summer, LOL. Dlynn, I could have worked so much more. I didnt really look at night time stuff and there was loads to do. Greece: cant help you, but shoot Yasou a line, she went a few years ago. LOL Annie! Teresa, well go together. I wanted to explore more cooking and food shops/stores but didnt get to. Terri, here is more a link to Pictures of England, a website pointed out to me by Denise. I started it on Bourton on the Water, where we stayed for a few days. Thanks Sharon, I was actually thinking how can I even come close to posting her quality of travel guides, I dont do the pictures she does LOL. We might have sat at the same table in the Cheshire Cheeses dining room! Sawdust still there, but we didnt make it to the cellar. I missed a lot of the British Museum. It has changed.check out the new atrium. I couldnt keep up with DH and DS16. Afternoons, when I planned museums, I crashed. Next time! Pam, lots of people did more than we did per day! Theater every night, more attractions, I cant imagine. Gina heh heh yeah I need another vacation like a hole in my head. Speaking of whichDH has another week off in August. Nooooooooo! Kathleen, DH says he took an average of 200 pictures a day. Yup. Me, I just buy the post cards or Google the images, same thing (DARFC from the photo bugs here) Cathy, thanks for giving me the War and Peace moniker heh heh. Next time I go with CF friends! Yay! A lot of Bay Area people here. Firsthouse, I saw your slab at DaVinci. Just beautiful! I, too, have been to so many slab places in the Bay Area (same ones as you, I'm sure, plus all the San Leandro places) and was very frustrated that I couldn't find anything. Your advice was very good... "keep looking! Don't give up and ask if there is new stuff coming in, even at slabyards you have already visited." And I would add...if they have new stuff coming in, ask if there's a wait list. I found what I wanted (at DaVinci, actually), but all the slabs were sold and the next shipment was in a month. I was on my way to IRG (Brisbane) last week to buy my 2nd choice granite (very distant 2nd choice) and I got a call from a slab place (All Natural Stone) in San Jose that said they had a new shipment in and I was off the wait list for my 1st choice (Typhoon Bordeaux). They put my name on 2 slabs. Immediate U turn on 101 to go see it! I NEVER thought the wait list thing would work out. What a relief (demo's in a couple of weeks)! Yeah! I love it! That piece has so much personality and the color really suits it IMHO. You've put so much time and energy into it, and I bet it will be one of your most treasured items.

But should you ever decide to part with it...I think you'd have quite a few vying for it just from this forum!

This sorry can of paint has been three different colors. I kept going back to SW and having them tweak it because I wasn't happy. It's a close proximity to Halycon Green. The finish is a flat oil which SW doesn't carry anymore. But the guy found one can of base in the back and after much heavy shaking it was still good so he sold it to me for a steep discount. So I love the color and it only cost me $22!

I'm so glad you all like it as much as I do... it means alot since I so value your opinions.

I love it! I painted the inside of my jelly cupboard project a similar shade, it just looks nice and vintage to me.

been lurkin and watching your progress. That is a timeless color. Will "get along" with just about anything you put in the room with it, and look fantastic with the marble.

Here is a similar color in a mosaic at The Breakers. It's that bit in the circle, just inward from the greek key border.

Beautiful ceiling. I have all those colors in my kitchen, great room and main level guest room which is off the kitchen.

Marble will be great on the bakers table. Can't wait to see it finished.

I was reading it a rich nutmeg color but here's what I"ll do... when I (one year) get into that house and have a completed kitchen; I'm going to find a glorious accessory in barn red in honor of you!

It's going to look really good with the marble top, and I think satin nickel pulls will tie it all together.

:-)... thank you all so much. I'll probably work more on the painting this weekend. No rush now to cram it in after working all day and running errands. I'm at peace now that I know for sure the color I'm going with. I can't wait till I can start shopping for things like marble!
