Kitchen Remodel Finally Complete....Before and After
Comments (55)Quick update... I ended up ordering a spoon and fork from Target.com. Here's a pic of it installed on the back wall. Also finished up installing my DIY under cabinet lighting... these lights are bright!!!! So glad I used a dimmer switch...this is the dimming level I tend to keep it at. Also forgot to mention that one of the pantries is a broom closet. After living in my new kitchen for almost of month now, I feel like I got everything right and did the best I could with the space I have. Trash cabinet, baking tray cabinet, broom closet, sink drop down tray, spice rack, plus all of the additional cabinet space makes me one happy camper. :) My only regret is not putting in pull outs for my pots/pans and lids. It's a bit of a pain having to bend down and look back into the cabinet to find what I'm looking for. Maybe at a later time... since it's still possible. Another thing I'm finding an issue with is our fridge. We bought a counter depth so we could have additional room, but it's been tough living with the limited space. Luckily, we still have our old fridge, so we're thinking of keeping it now to store larger items....See MoreUPDATE Finally finished Nursery. Before & After Pics (pic heavy)
Comments (47)Hi again, Thanks so much for the measurements! I think we can work something like that in our smaller bedroom and still have enough floor for his bed.... I will have to measure tomorrow when I don't risk making noise near the bedrooms (our sons sleep with their door open). He still wants to sleep with his brother, but they have made a few comments about having their own rooms soon. We can relocate the computer and set up the room as originally intended for him. Thanks again!...See MoreFinal countertop payment BEFORE installation?
Comments (16)I can see it from both the customer's point of view as well as the fabricator's. Here we paid 50% upfront and the rest after the install. But I probably wouldn't have minded if I had to pay all upfront since the company I used is very reputable. Do you all remember a month or so ago the person who got her counters and there were some things wrong, so she was advised to stop the check - which she did? Well what if she decided she was never going to like the job, even if the job was done according to industry standards? The fabricator would have been left holding the bag and that just isn't fair. On the other hand, money is the best incentive to get a job done correctly and so it would certain make a granite installer more likely to do the right thing. I think it's an interesting question: if you hire someone because he is the low ball bid and the job isn't done according to your high standards (even though it is done according to the installer's best abilities), do you have a right to withhold payment? The nstaller certainly performed and did the best he could, but just not the way you expected....See MoreDIY bathroom reno finally complete! Before and after pics
Comments (43)Just one side note, it was mostly DIY- all of the plumbing and tub installation was done by a plumber. And the plaster walls were resurfaced by a professional. They were pretty bad after removing the tile. And my husband wanted plaster not Sheetrock....See MoreLanjin86
