New HVAC system specs.

Although we have done some research it is really beyond us to evaluate this proposal in any complete way so I would very much appreciate any input from people in this line of work.

The existing equipment other than the water heater is nearly 30 years old and the ac has been struggling for a couple of years now. The 1930s small brick house (two main floors approx 1000 sq ft each and a half finished basement)is in the DC area with little no wall insulation (brick, lath and then plaster walls) and some of the windows (metal framed) are still single glazed.

One Carrier "Infinity" 80 Model 58CVA-090-1-16: 90,000 Btu / 2 stage / natural draft venting / 80% efficient / variable speed  1600 CFM blower / 115 volts / 15 amps. This furnace will vent via double wall Class B flue to the existing chimney.

One (1) Carrier "Infinity" Model 24ANA736A003: 3 Ton / 36,000 Btu / 2 Stage / air cooled condenser rated at 17 SEER, Puron (R-410A) refrigerant, 208/230 volts, 1 phase, 40 Amps

One (1) Carrier / ADP Model C36A175C536: 36,000 Btu indoor evaporator coil

One (1) Carrier "Infinity" Model SYSTXCCU1D01: 7 day digital/programmable thermostat and humidistat controller.

One (1) Carrier Model GAPAXXCC1625: MERV-16 air filtration system to clean the air and inhibit mold growth in the duct system.

One (1) Carrier Model HUMCCLFP1418: 18 gallon per day power humidifier

One (1) Carrier Model UVLCC1LP1020: UV light assembly to inhibit mold growth in the duct system and evaporator coil

One (1) 36" x 42" poly pad base

One (1) 1/2" AGA gas valve for the new gas furnace

(and other miscellaneous upgrades to other parts of the system).

The estimate says that the contractor has prepared a formal Manual J calculation and verified that the equipment specified is properly sized.
