Question about this Forum

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, having just started knitting again (after a long time) during the past couple of weeks. I am getting re-hooked quickly! Anyway, I was wondering if there are rules regarding posting pictures here. I would think this would be a place where there would be lots and lots of pictures of projects or projects-in-progress. Are people discouraged from posting pictures or is it just that people are so knowledgeable that they don't need pictures to visualize what others are talking about lol! Anyway, I have seen a few and have enjoyed them SO MUCH! Just wondering about this. Thanks.

Catlover, in my case, it is just that I am too ignorant to figure out how to post a picture! I do occasionally, however, post a link to my website, where my DH has graciously placed photos for me. I don't know how to put them on my website, either. I'm itching to share some photos that he just took yesterday of an all white baby round ripple and matching white baby dress, bonnet, and booties. But I just have to be patient until he gets around to editing and uploading the photos for me.

Go for it! We want to see those pictures.

Donna, email me the pic, you will probably have to email me thru my page to get my email addy, then send the pic that way. I will be happy to post it for you.

AS to posting pics here, you need a photo web hosting site like photobucket, which is free, just register. Upload your picture, copy the tag line and paste in your post. when you hit the preview button after typing your message, the photo will show up and then submit the post.

Hi Laura, congratulations on the move! I hope the climate is more hospitable for you and your roses. I've not run across the need to make the kind of change you're attempting, nor can I find the right way to do it, either. I've been thinking of her on and off. I thinking out of the blue she'll show up one of these days to reveal all the remodeling she's done. I believe she was about to start on her new kitchen the last time she was here. Hope everything's going well for her.

To get to your clippings just open any post (message) and click on: "see most clipped and recent clippings" then click on: "Go to My Clippings Page"

Hi Helen. Let's see if I can thumb-type this before my coffee gets cold.... First, if you're not using it already, download Opera browser from Google Playstore. It's the only browser with a decent text flow feature so you can pinch zoom and it will resize the screen. Unless Chrome has seen the light. Then login as usual. When you do, you'll see your forum ID on the topmost right-hand corner. Tap that and it will load a screen with a list of options. Tap "Your Houzz" and this brings you to the screen where you see different tabs---ideabooks, bookmarks, activity, etc. "Activity" is the tab you want so tap that. That shows discussions you've commented on. Above the list of discussions there is a drop-down menu that allows you to sort the list according to different criteria---your comment, threads you started, etc. So just tap the option you want. As for photo, just tap the camera icon at the bottom of the comment field right above the green bar that says "submit". If your browser is allowed to take photos, it will launch the phone camera. If not, it will launch the gallery app where you can select photos.

Absolutely we WANT to see pictures. It's diasppointing that we don't have more pictures, so Catlover, you just get busy and show us what you've got!!! LOL!

I don't have anything to post yet! But I am happy to know that there are no restrictions about it. I would really love to see others' projects! Come one guys, anyone who can knit or crochet can certainly master picture posting, and it would be a lot of fun! Thanks for the information, CL.

If you can post them go ahead. I have trouble so I post them to the gallery over at sewing or crafts then reference the link over here for anything I want to show.

Hey all you knitting personas - anyone I know that knits or crochets just loves to share a look see of their finished project. I think its a wonderful idea of posting pictures and offers of emailing the pattern if someone would like.
Alas, like a few of you I also have not yet mastered the procedure to post pictures. Maybe someone could do the yellow brick road and post it. (You know, step by step)
