If you were designing a kitchen magazine....(lots of pics)
Comments (4)Lavendar, I never thought of that before but you are so right. When I scrolled through your lovely pics, it was refreshing to see the different styles. Kitchen design should be like any artistic venue of any sort...UNIQUE. I too enjoy the "standard" kitchen out in the magazines, but it does become very homogonized. Is this because of resale, the need to blend with the rest of the house which also is also homogonized? Is "staging" your house the new standard, where your home appeals to the majority but wows no one (including ourselves)? Is it that kitchens are too expensive (I read a previous thread of yours) to venture off the well worn path? It been ages since I've seen a kitchen and it blew me away except for a modern kitchen. I have to question myself though; do I love modern or do I love it because it is so different? Maybe a little bit of both???...See Morebacksplash feedback wanted, please
Comments (9)melissa-- check out this link to meredith tile, who was a handmade art tile company that went out of business but is still clearing out their stock at AMAZING prices. I was planning a yellow subway backsplash and ordered a sample of their lemon creme tile. It is very thick (probably similar to your Motawi tile) and was pale yellow, absolutely gorgeous, very high quality handmade art tile--just was not quite the match I was looking for with my cabinets. There is a lot of it available and just $6.30 sq/ft on clearance. There are lots of other colors on their site in varying (usually small) quantities. I really want someone to get that yellow because it was so very pretty! They will send you a sample at no cost if you call the number on the site. Maybe you will be the match! Here is a link that might be useful: Meredith tile yellow subway...See MoreUpscale version of Green Demo - Kitchen Trader
Comments (3)I'm pretty new here and have never heard of this site. It's fascinating! I'm guessing you could only really buy one if you were doing new home construction or complete gutting and you find it before you really get into demo? It wouldn't work for me since I don't fall in those two camps but still, it's awesome!...See MoreHelp me with backsplash ideas!
