Mower won't run after 20 min.
Comments (7)If you are daring, I would also hook up a small tank directly to the carb to eliminate fuel supply problems. I had one recently that had a pinched fuel line and progressive got worse over a 3 year period where it would run for 30 minutes and then eventually 3 minutes. The pinch was caused by 2 tie straps on the line and the pinch was not visible. The owner had it to the dealer twice $$$$ and they rebuilt the carb, etc. and never checked the fuel line....See MoreRiding Mower won't restart when hot
Comments (20)A couple of observations. I don't get your model # to come up in Briggs look up, and the Murray # doesn't seem to be of any help either. It would be helpful to post the model and type # to know for sure. If the cylinder head looks as the one in the picture, then no problem. The Hammerwall link is showing a different model #. If this is an aftermarket fuel cap, they sometimes like to put the part # sticker over the vent hole in the cap- like MTD likes to do. I don't see any indication that the cooling system has been cleaned. If this is a significant oil burner, bad carbon build up in the combustion chamber doesn't help. With all this being said, Bill's probably right with the starter being tired, but it would be good to know the answers to these questions....See MoreKawasaki FB460V 12.5 hp Won't Start Weak Spark
Comments (30)Receive all my parts finally, and had a warm day yesterday. After looking at the gasket surface of the head closer, there was no doubt that I had a leaking head gasket. I taped the corners of sheets of sandpaper onto a large piece of glass and smoothed the gasket surface area of the head. Started with 150 grit and worked my way up. This took some time. I was surprised how warped/uneven the gasket surface of the head appeared to be. I checked that old coil again and the readings were still off so I left the new one on the mower. The old one produced a spark, but meter showed bad readings as noted before. Torqued the head to spec and put her all back together. Started on 3rd pull and purrs like a kitten! Note to others that my head gasket was leaking on the bottom, and it was almost impossible to detect without removing the muffler and/or the head. If I had it to do over, I would have, if necessary, removed the muffler and sprayed carb cleaner along entire the gasket surface with the engine running before removing the head. However, I waited too long and couldn't even get the engine started. In my case, it worked out well because the gasket was definately leaking. Do yourselves a favor and check compression in the early stages of repair before throwing parts at one like I did. The low compression reading, along with Tomplum, got me on the right track. Thanks for the good advice. This site is awesome!...See MoreComputer won't shut down
Comments (15)Unfortunately my sudden refusal to shutdown, seems to be quite regular. I click "Turn Off From the Start Menu" We get to the windows is now (closing)shutting down screen, the jingle plays...and we are not on nor off. Its Microsoft limbo hell. Mouse control has shut down. Can I delete .Net Framework 2.2 without hell to pay? My gut feeling is my problems are stemming from .net or the Merc board. The Merc board once shut down my Morrowind game and cancelled the tilde key assignment. Even Bethesda Softworks said there was nothing I could do. Ideazon support told me to upgrade my all keyboard drivers to hid, and that (unknowingly) knocked out the PS2 keyboard drivers used by the laser mouse assignments...it wasn't until I redownloaded the laser mouse drivers, did everything start to work. I can now cheat on my game to my hearts' content. (The tilde key brings up a game console where dirty little cheaters, like me, can enter codes to cheat.) This driver install and uninstall freeze with this crappy keyboard, that I'm stuck with to save money, is going to break me. It might have caused some problems. I had to reboot my computer from the default settings in bios. Although there was a warning on the Microsoft update site about one of .net updates rendering some computers unresponsive? Well! gee. I CANNOT DO A SYSTEM RESTORE! I tried a few different restore points...and honest to Pete!...I got this message saying the system hadn't changed so they weren't going to bother, there wasn't any point!? I mean, I never!!! What the????...See Morebrickeyee
