Crochet Trellis Necklace

I am looking for a Crochet necklace using the trellis yarn.

They are very pretty and would make great Christmas gifts.

I'm adding the link to the trellis necklace. A friend gave me one for my birthday and it is lovely. I'm having a difficult time getting the trellis yarn and read somewhere it was discontinued.

Lady, the one you gave me a couple years ago is doing great. I have it in a large pot with Phillipine Violets and Hot Pink 4 O'Clocks. It's smashing when the yellow, pink and lavender are in bloom together. Last fall everything was getting really scraggly so I cut them all way back. Look how full the planter is now. I love the texture of the necklace pod leaves.

Try to see if you can shorten or cut out any of the motions you are making to make a stitch. I used to, when I would finish a stitch, pull the yarn a little to the right to get my tension on my stiches, then start my next step. What I figured out to do, after making about 50 or so blankets for charity, is when I finish a stich, stick the needle in and start the next stitch and let this make the tension in my stitches. So, I cut out a step, but the result looks the same. For me, it made me much faster. Also, because there are so many individual stiches in making each shell, they do take longer. Some patterns, like doing a blanket in V stiches, or double crochets seem to work up lots faster, in my experience, anyway. Some of what you think is being slower is maybe because it is shell stitch, imo. I hope this helps you, anyway, good luck. I do think shells are one of the prettiest stitches there are.

There are only two patterns on the Premier yarns website using the trellis yarn. One pattern involves crocheting, and the other is neither crocheted NOR knitted. See: http://www.premieryarns.ca/product.aspx?id=6896&pid=166517 And while snooping around the Internet, I found: "Similar to Lion Brand Trellis and Bernat Matrix, City Life Ladder yarn is a glitzy ladder yarn." HTH.

Actually, the ladder/trellis yarn does not knit up using only the top edge. It's actually a rather narrow yarn (I wouldn't even really call it yarn). Clueless, have you used any of the ladder/trellis yarn? I bought several balls of it a few years ago and I HATE it. I don't know how much you need or what color you want, but if you like, I can check this weekend and round up what I have left and let you know what I have. You could have it for the cost of the shipping. I REALLY don't like it.

Thanks Loads for the link to trellis yarn necklace,I was not aware of the necklace. Have made several shawls with Trellis and they are always a hit.
The last time I found Trellis yarn, was at Big Lots and a Dollar store, yep it is apparently being discontinued.
Have a stash of Trellis, and will make the necklace.

Thanks for those links. I bought some trellis yarn when it first came out. Not very much, just a couple of balls. So, it wasn't really enough to make anything with, except maybe a scarf, which I started, but hated, so ripped it out. I think maybe a necklace is just the ticket.

Has anyone put a clasp on these? If so what would or did you use? I made one the other day and just love it, but would like a clasp.
