Update on Savannah ,Ashley's friend

Leslie Since you asked about Savannah I thought it would be good to start a new post about Savannah since I figure more will want to read the post.

Things keep getting better and better because of the many many prayers.Thank you all again.It brings sweet tears of joy to my eyes.Hugs Judy

PS sorry I have not posted till now,but we had to put greg's brother in the nursing home and he is only 53.He went from being in the hospital than he is in the nursing home.We have been tied up with this since greg is the only brother and greg's parents are not in good health either and his wife has to work,so I could not find time to come and post,.Thanks for asking any ways Leslie.I will try to post a update more.

Hi everyone! I started therapy here in Clanton this past Thursday. I enjoy being closer to home!! and my new therapists seem really nice. I start back to school Monday!..yay! and I will also begin pool therapy then. I hope that everyone had a great new years!

Hello everyone!! its been awhile since theres been an update, and i thought this time...I'd write it myself! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I will be starting therapy here in Clanton on January 3rd! Im also starting back to school after the Christmas break! I am excited! I try to walk mostly with my cane now..and occasionally I will walk w/out any kind of device! God has truly blessed me! I hope you all have a wonderful new years!!

That is just the best news Judy. I'm sooooo happy to hear the young lady has progressed to sometimes walking without a cane even. Remarkable and wonderful!!! Thanks for the update.

Annie, FYI and for Ashley, I have IBS and it is very non-typical, just causes pain, no other symptoms. Intense pain but it doesn't last and goes away. Best diet is minimal food, emphasis on sticky fiber, not rough fiber. Things like fruits and oatmeal, not wheat bran. I also had ovarian cysts that were painful but went away without needing surgery. Of course ulcerative colitis or chron's disease is always a possibility--hard to diagnose, hard to treat, but sometimes just goes away on its own and can be somewhat managed. My friend's pancreas swelled up once, she was in the hospital and everything, they had no idea why it did that, and then it just went away! I agree with what Spacific said, go alternative, try acupuncture. Doctors aren't very good with treating these nebulous systemic problems, IMHO. Best help comes from talking to others who have been in a similar situation and gotten things under control. This has been my experience with migranes and my dad's experience with ulcerative colitis. Above all, avoid the doctor's favorite pill for nebulous maladies--steroids! Too many long term side effects. If they don't bring it under control right away then the diagnosis is probably wrong and they need to be stopped. I cannot begin to tell you the damage I have seen with friends and family taking steroid medications. Yes, they can be a godsend, but they are not a long term solution.

Thanks you all for the kind words.I forgot to add they have a pic alone with the write up and she looks so so beautiful.I wish you could see the pic when she was in kindergarden,and now.Amazing how she fast times flys and how she blossomed.I know everone changes from kindergarden to a senior,but what I am saying if I did not know Savannah and passed her on the streets I would have never knew who she was.She still in therapy.Of course she has had so many surgeries.They stated in the paper,she could not speak only move her eyes to communcaite.I was just thinking about they had been talking about unplugging her when she was in the hospital,and to look at her now.I just can not get over this.Her and my niece is best friends.Also Chelsea,her sister,Ashley's friend is the sweetest,soft talking,yes mam,and no mam,person I ever ever know.She is now married[Chelsea] and doing her great too.There is another younger sister ,Mary`L` ,but she is the same way soft talking.This family is just one amazing family.I am not just saying this too.Thanks for letting me tell this story.

Sorry everyone for naming everyone in the pic.I was in a hurry trying to get this Done.I am not sure how to do this.But ok that is her dad of course the man in the pic and his name is Greg.Next to him is Savannah and than her baby sis Mary L but [her name is wrote with a little L and when they pronounce her name they say Mary L.I hope I have explain this.Than that is Chelsea next to her.Chelsea got married a very months ago.She is just a couple months younger than my Ashley.She had been dating her boyfriend for three years(Matt).We wish her the best.Here is below another with Phylis [Savannah's mom.)To me they are a beautiful family. Her use of exclamation marks shows her enthusiasm and excitement!!!!!!!

Getting back to school will be some of the best therapy she could have.

I am just getting back here.Thanks for being such a inspiration part of helping her get well.I have sent her the posts from here.I am hoping she and her mom will come here and talk to you all.I am working on this and it may take time but I believe we will see her and her mom here one day.Thanks for posting such great encouragements like you all have and not knowing them personal but yet you all willing to take a minute out of your day to encourging and congraduate her in her well doing,.I have said it before and I say it again,you all are the greatest.I am proud I am part of this group.
