Exterior vent proximity to attic vent - How close?

User

I'm in the process of plumbing in a new vent for my over-the-range microwave. There has never been a vent, light or anything above my stove. I have made the hole in the wall for the rear-vent of the microwave and the unit is now mounted. The vent exits the microwave through the garage wall. I am going to run the duct straight up the wall to the attic and then out the side wall nearby. (Can't get to the sidewall from the garage, thus the attic route.) I plan to seal (foil tape) the duct and add fire-resistant sealant to the wall penetration. Then will come a wrap of foil faced insulation.

How far will my exterior cap have to be from the attic wall vent, which is in the general vicinity? I plan to use one of the multi-louvered caps so there is minimal protrusion on the exterior.
