I would look for ring movement in the piston vs trying to rotate. 2. Try to feel for piston ringâÂÂs compression with your finger or dowl feeling for drag, rotating slow w/o oil before too much time is spent. 3. This old models which have only had bad fuel lines and carb problems are personally all I plan to touch (in my volunteering mode) vs compression teardown issues. They are normally plentiful at Estate/Garage Sales. My20 + yr old blower was 15.00 with a demo that it worked. 4. Replacing fuel line can almost become a teardown until you learn the tricks of fishing, feeding and pulling line. This was a 70âÂÂs Hobby before moving to Computer Applications/Cad and Comp Repairs as a Hobby to keep my job. Call them Hobbies vs Jobs and they become More Fun vs Nightmares. LOL

nice curious as to the variety ? Mine is Cauliflora / Red / Hybrid got it from Pine Island Nursery as a 3gal a year and a half ago. its fruited 3 times already... just 5-6 fruits at a time but its faster than i was prepared for. Now i need to put it in ground. trouble is finding an area with full sun, BUT, will not let the plant dry out if it doesnt rain in a few weeks time. i put 3 of the seeds in my seed-tray and BAM... all 3 germinated... (light pink leaves)

dusty if this was mine, I would request that installing dealer contact Carrier field rep and ask them to make a site visit. I could understand better if you lived in a corrosive coastal environment. I don't believe this is the case. This has to be taken as premature failure. Keep in mind that unless there have been improvements to the motor and heat exchanger the replacement parts will likely suffer the same consequences. this is a 2 1/2 ton dual fuel package unit? if so, seems reasonable for the size of your home. it does cross my mind that this might be an installation issue but that's only speculation on my part. IMO Good Luck!

Don't take offense from my little rant,i just have to vent from time to time. (: . Considering your hobby,you have sufficent understanding of simple schematics, continuity,voltage drop and testing for presence of voltage to check this out. Look once more at light and what it says on door they mean. You might be on to something with gas valve but keep in mind that ever possible problem defaults to that valve. Shut the gas off and nothing bad can happen is the reasoning. Look scamatic over carfully and make certain everything is in place. Not to beat on your service guy but all of us ( well except the few that are perfect) have failed to reinstall a shield causing roll out safty to activate. Make sure everything near burners is in proper position so theres no rollout shut down. Induced drafts can be touchy plus some manufactures designed one that is two step,validates once before allowing pilot to light then again to make sure flow is ample before lighting burners. Not only does fan have to run, CFMs must be up to specs. I've been away for a while but most used a "sail switch"which can be manually overroad by holding sail up with finger tip. Do not perminatly wire around any switch any longer than nessary for tests. Look carfully to make certain exhust/flue isn't obstructed by mud dauber or bird nest. Furnace is largest consumer of gas in the house. Water heater and range might recieve enough gas although meter or supply line is partly plugged. How old is house? Turn on all other gas appliances to see if that farthur restricts flow at burners. Ok,if you are 100% certain you follow what I'm saying and are comfortable with doing it. While valve is trying to open,establish polarity of terminals. Use a 2 wire jumper from transformer to valve as soon as flame begains during normal start up. If burners don't operate,check for spider webs and such in burner. If all burners light and burn full,that 90% says valve is not where problem lies. You will need to back track from valve to and through safty switches to find which then why is breaking circuit. That should keep you busy for a spell. If your eyebrows are singed when you return we will know things didn't go as planned. ):
