It took a while to understand and I also have a friend who announces new threats that FB has put upon our safety. I have not changed to messenger and know others have used it for awhile and wanted me to. Why? My bank credit card was used by an owner of a restaurant who had my receipt from the week before. The man wiped me out without swiping it or getting my signature. Yeah, I have gone after him. My bank investigators got him right away - when I notified them. It is disturbing in many ways. I caught him also swiping it twice and one of those swipes had no signature. It went thru my bank. Scary. Privacy is uncertain anywhere. Pay with cash some say. Need documentation for some things like overcharging. Thanks, Mary for the adblocker info. No, I didn't know I could do that. It is great news to know the site online I looked at shoes yesterday won't show up on FB the next day. I am a student to all of you and do listen. I come back here to just read. Also on FB there are come-ons within the postings. One yesterday shouted "Would you like to know more about your neighbor?" and a link. There were hundreds of people who responded with a resounding NO. FB lets us learn hard lessons on our own while counting the cash they made off of the deceitful people. I detest it but use it to keep up with friends - like everyone else. Next up I will ask u all how to get my "downloaded to PC" IOS pics and videos landing in the right direction and do I have the right software and other hard stuff to easily send them to FB and other places. I think most of you are Android users. But I will wait and let you digest the conundrums I have place on you so far.

I love FB. I don't post much there. I like to see what's going on with friends and family. I have reconnected with people I haven't seen in 40 years. I considerate FB a place for lite chat. It is not a place to bare your soul. Just a place to make "small talk' and share pics, that sort of thing. I don't get the fear factor. It's not a site where any financial info goes nor do you have to post anything personal. Plus there are lots of ways to control your account for added security if you feel you must. I really see the irony that many who don't "trust" FB still will come to boards like these and give out all sorts of personal info,post pics of their children and talk about them etc. There is no way at all this site is protected. We can't even edit or remove our own posts here. Leaves me scratching my head.

I found this pork chop recipe originally on pinterest. Since I use my Aroma multi cooker I can do it all in one pot because I set it on saute first to brown the meat and cook the onions etc then just switch it over to the slow cooker setting for how ever many hours it calls for. Yay! only one dirty pot that is a breeze to clean. I usually serve it with some type of rice and add the sauce over the rice as a gravy. I like the very thick bone in chops but I have done this with thick boneless pork loin chops too, there's only the 2 of us. Crock Pot Maple Dijon Pork Chops Ingredients: 2 large bone-in pork chops 1 large yellow onion, chopped 3 tbsp pure maple syrup 2 tbsp dijon mustard 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 1 tbsp vegetable oil Directions: Heat up the oil in a large skillet over high heat. When hot, add the pork chops and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Sear both sides of chops over high heat (about 2 minutes per side) then transfer to your Crock Pot. Lower the heat to medium low and add the onions. Cook until onions are just starting to soften then add the cider vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes and then pour sauce over chops in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-7 hours. Serve chops drizzled generously with sauce.

While I love, love Houzz, facebook works for quick opinions or info. If I want to know who has tried some obscure organic thing for roses, often someone will on fb. If I want to know who in my area grows a certain DA rose, someone on fb. If I want to find certain amendments or soil or mulch in my area, fb usually. If I want expert and thoughtful information = Houzz (or a couple people on fb.) If I want to basically poll and get lots of opinions or info. very local to me = fb Facebook rose gardening is lots of new rose gardeners or rose gardeners looking to connect with others who share their passion. I don't think I would have gone back to fb, except that my state stayed pretty well lockdown for the whole 2 years...people did curbside pick up at nurseries. The Rose Societies were zoomed. Masked people, where I live, did not talk to strangers. I had just gotten into roses and finding anyone local to share that with was impossible without fb. Brandon....For a brief while I needed to use fb for connecting with a group over medical research....wow, the amount of staunch "founts of wisdom!" The funny thing is there was so many of them and they usually differed from each other. Since the thing was so new, it all added to the mix of knowledge and experience. Wonder if fb attracts that kind of thing?
