Hi T I ordered pillow inserts from United Pillow Mfg. a few years ago and they were quite reasonable. I just checked their prices and they are up a bit but still reasonable. I ordered the woven faux down inserts . They have a list of general sizes or you can order custom sizes as well. You type in the size you want and you can see how much it will cost. Thanks Mitch! I prefer that size for my sofa in case I ever need to take a catnap. :) Blubird, I sure wish I knew to buy a couple of inches smaller in the cover before I bought a pair. Seriously, does anyone know of an online store that sells a lot of textiles, like pillow covers with many colors and patterns to choose from? I'm looking for checks and plaids and they're really hard to find, or not the color I want.

I have not done a zipper AND piping on a pillow, but it seems to me that your pillow would not be reversible as the zipper would show on one side. I have done piping with an envelope or over-lapping opening. You baste your piping to one side(doesn't matter which), then sew the sides together following the basting so you won't sew over the piping edge. If you are only going to show one side of the pillow anyway, you could baste your piping to one side, then add your zipper. I hope this makes sense. I can picture it in my head, but don't know exactly how to phrase it.

I have Simplicity's "Simply the Best Home Decorating Book". It has excellent instructions for measuring furniture and drafting different kinds of covers, pillows, etc. Donna
