Hi T I ordered pillow inserts from United Pillow Mfg. a few years ago and they were quite reasonable. I just checked their prices and they are up a bit but still reasonable. I ordered the woven faux down inserts . They have a list of general sizes or you can order custom sizes as well. You type in the size you want and you can see how much it will cost. I hope this helps. Debbie

Thanks Mitch! I prefer that size for my sofa in case I ever need to take a catnap. :) Blubird, I sure wish I knew to buy a couple of inches smaller in the cover before I bought a pair. Seriously, does anyone know of an online store that sells a lot of textiles, like pillow covers with many colors and patterns to choose from? I'm looking for checks and plaids and they're really hard to find, or not the color I want.

I wanted to bring this up again before Chritmas especially forgals who might like to make some for sales. I used the preprinted pillow material but it is a nice way to use up extra squares you might have made for samples. 1 in the photo shows the stuffing (yes, plastic bags) 2 shows them stuffed into the pillow form and 3 shows the finished pillow from the front. They squeak a little but they are for show. BTW they are very nice and are form fitting for an afternoon nap!!

I sew my own pillows and I don't use the feather inserts. I found that they lose their shape, constantly need to be re-fluffed and pounded back up into top, and feathers work their way out. I buy my inserts from fabric outlets, and I get the taut ones that the insides don't squish to the bottom very easily. Sorry---don't know how to describe it better.
