Direction of floor planked vs. tongue and groove ceiling.

I'm currently remodeling my kitchen. We have already begun installing Armstrong ceiling planks that give the look of a white painted wood ceiling. For the floor we have purchased a dark walnut wood look ceramic tile, also in planks. The room is a little longer than it is wide which is emphasized on the floor with cabinets running along both sides and a bank at the end. We are placing the ceiling planks in the longest direction. I'm wondering if we should place the floor tile in the same direction. It would mean less cuts, but I'm concerned it will make the room look even narrower than it really is by highlighting the length.
I know with wood doors and ceilings, the two typically have to run perpendicular to the joists, which go in the same direction, but as neither of these are real wood, that isn't a concern here. It's all about cosmetics for me.
