Any opinions on Trafficmaster vinyl flooring?

I've seen a few discussions regarding Trafficmaster laminate products, but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or recommendations on their vinyl flooring? We were at HD this evening and found a vinyl tile design we both really liked for our kitchen. It's a relatively high-traffic area, so my first concern is with durability. We have sheet linoleum now, but I like the look of the individual tiles much better. I wanted to go with a brand anme such as Armstrong but did not see a similar design/color being offered by them. Does anyone know who manufactures Trafficmaster for HD (Shaws?) ?

Packaging says "made in China". Guarantee says Halstead New England (15 Oak Avenue / Norwalk, CT 06850) ... great flooring .... I'm not sure this message is actually posting

A couple of years ago I put the Trafficmaster peel and stick tiles in my Mom's kitchen. They still look as good as new. I put them on top of the old sheet vinyl that was coming apart. I used roofing nails to nail the old vinyl back down flat. She's very pleased with it.

If you're looking for a tile that's moisture resistant and looks amazing then I would definitely check out www.ceilume.com. I used their drop ceiling tiles in my basement and am thrilled to say the least. Moisture was a huge concern for me as well and I was assured by the Ceilume staff that these would be suitable for my basement, and they were right. I too checked out the tiles from Home Depot and Lowes but the were so ugly I had to look for something else before deciding on them. I found Ceilume online and got their free samples which can be found here: http://www.ceilume.com/ceilingtile_browsefreesamples.cfm When they say Free, they mean it unlike almost all other online tile companies. There was not even a charge for shipping and they gave me a coupon good for 5% off my order. Not much but it definitely helped. So far I am very pleased, the customer service was great, the product was inexpensive, and the tiles look like they are much more expensive then just the vinyl they are made out of. Good luck to you!

Hello, We're trying to finalize flooring decisions for our moisture/water vulnerable basement. We're going with flooring options that either don't care or are easy to clean/dry/replace if they get wet. In one area, we're going with Flor carpet tile. But, in another area, we're considering vinyl planks. From what we understand, they're waterproof if there's a flood.We're trying to pick between LL's Tranquility product (on sale at $2.24/sq ft with a 50 year warranty) vs HD's TrafficMaster Allure Ultra ($2.97/sq ft with a lifetime warranty). Now, for my wife and me (in our 40s), there's not a lot of difference in the warranty; we're not likely to be in the house when the Tranquility's warranty runs out. And, the Tranquility feels much more substantial than the TrafficMaster. So, does anyone have any experience with either of these products? Any other opinions? Thanks! Tiger

I would pull the toilet, but not a whole vanity cabinet. I would remove the pedestal from a pedestal sink. It doesn't look silly at all, to run planks different in different rooms. A Tee molding, unless it is something special/different, at doorways.

Advice on Trimming Trafficmaster 12 x 12 Vinyl Tiles

Hi, I recently had some emergency plumbing work done in which the middle portion of my basement floor and 12 x 12 vinyl tiles were torn up. I went back to Home Depot to get the replacement tiles and the tiles are a smidge (technical term) larger than before. Now the tiles aren't lining up and I need to trim between 1/8" - 1/4" off the tiles or pull up the remaining and continue forward.. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a decent tile cutter to use or give up on saving the older tiles? Thanks, Corey

We chose high-traffic Dresden Sand peel-n-stick tiles from Trafficmaster, and they are wonderful. We put them in a year or two ago.

My husband and a friend (who has experience with this type of thing) did ours in one day in our kitchen (including ripping up all the old floor & sub). Hubby first removed the horrid old sheet flooring, metal strip, and decrepid subfloor (that had tarpaper all over it and was full of nails along the metal strip---horrible!). They laid all brand-new plywood subfloor and no additional glue was needed for the tiles (that was not in the instructions anyway).

We cannot express enough how much we love our floor. The tiles are so good-looking and tight and smooth that it all looks like one sheet. The color and texture is wonderful.
