I'm thinking one of those display stands, like the libraries once used to display the huge unabridged dictionaries upon. Cut it down to table top height and equip it with wheels and a large 10-diopter magnifier, with enclosed fluorescent light and I would be all set! My DH is very handy at that sort of thing and he likes to putter in his shop, with all of the woodworking power tools. Maybe, then the only strenuous effort I would have is flipping the pages. Do they have a device for that, too? Kidding aside, it is a handful to wrestle that tome from the bookcase to the coffee table and back again, each time I want to check on a Hosta. It may just wind up as a permanent fixture on the coffee table. I agree about the eyestrain, even though I have megawatts of CFC lighting in my den, I have to limit my reading to a few minutes each time, which is probably a good thing, as my garden needs my undivided attention right now, from daybreak to dusk, as we experienced a very, very long, difficult winter here and cleanup is moving very slowly! Hostas must have enjoyed their long rest, as they are looking good this year, for the first time in several years.

OMGosh...I thought you hit a jackpot with your other post, then I opened this one. What beautiful dishes! The rich colors on the plates, the wonderful design on the salad ones, I love them. Maybe you should have bought a lottery ticket while you were out! LOL. hugs, Karen

Okay, so I forgot to get a picture before I moved the leaf but after some vine and rubberband arrangments, the deformed leaf is still deformed from grabbing the rubber band like a finger. The thing is growing like crazy and putting out new vines from dormant leaf buds. The coronaria (fast grower!) Hasn't put on any leaves since I got it, maybe one etoliated pair when I first had them and was keeping them under a plastic sheet to help them adjust to my home conditions.

I agree that a diagnosis is needed. It may not be tendonitis at all but something like Annie described regarding spinal issues. I had similar symptoms to tendonitis in my left elbow and triceps due to a herniated disk in my neck that required surgery to correct. I waited too long to have the surgery (treating with steroids for a year instead) and my left arm muscles have never been the same since due to the atrophy of not using my left arm much and permanent nerve damage. If the pain increases when you are sitting on a hard chair or bench that might be a clue that it is a spinal issue. Your spine is compressed as you sit and a nerve leading to the pain point is being pinched in the disk. I believe it was the disk between the C6 and C7 vertebrae that caused my issue. The nerve to the left arm comes out of the spine in that location. That being said, I used to get tendinitis in my right elbow when I bowled in leagues twice a week. Haven't had a problem since I stopped bowling. My advice to the OP is to stop bowling! :-p
