That is just silly...usernames have to be unique...as soon as the 2nd John or Mary tried to use those as usernames there was a problem. And if they did allow it...there would be endless "Which John are you?" or "Which Mary said that?" 2. Creepy factor...yes at first it may be creepy to be able to Google yourself...but just how many people ACTUALLY GOOGLE YOU? Probably just you. 3. Protect yourself in all things techy AND NOT TECHY TOO... identity theft happens more when somebody goes through your trashcan than from the Internet. Or from people clicking on SPAM emails telling them about discount Viagra, their lottery winnings in Liberia, and how much girls in some third world country want to "meet you". Make sure there are no identifiers about where you live...house numbers, car license plates, etc. And no pics of minor children unless site is secure. And monitor your children too. 5 A. I graduated HS in 1981 and yesterday, my HS Principal became one of my FaceBook friends...what a wonderful world where that can happen...that I can tell him and others how they influenced the person I have become. Yes, Hilda does do a great job! Her site only covers the greater Boston area, although I talked to her about this last year when we started NEGE, and she has branched out since then. Maybe the easiest thing to do is to send her notices about events that are out of her normal area; Blithewold and Gardeners Supply, for example, and the garden shows in ME, CT, and western MA. That would keep everything in one place, and I think she'd be agreeable to this idea. I'll email her if she doesn't pop up here. I was cleaning out my blogspot "dashboard" today, and thought I should check before I turn in the URL for NEGE. I would not mind continuing it, but only if someone else wanted to contribute. Despite getting positive feedback from visitors during our run last year, the best part of the site was the fun of a group effort.

What drive me nuts is when reading real estate listings (I am an agent) someone will invariably write "parkay" floors. I always think of how awfully slippery they must be! They also misspell other commonly used words in our field and I am afraid that the new versions will somehow take hold. Think of good old duct tape. It is now duck tape and commonly labeled that way. I typo all the time and even had to go back to the word "typo" to correct it, lol. However, I do try to catch mine. I see people on FB all the time who seem to make no attempt at spelling or grammar. Frequently they are in college or recently graduated, so you would think they'd have learned by now (my peers' children). I think by the time I was 10 or so, I had a pretty decent grip on the English language. I hate to sound crotchety, but kids these days...... I do my best with our sons (7.5 & 9), but it is an uphill battle with all the errors I catch while watching tv, surfing the web, reading professionally made signs, etc... The younger generation is bombarded with poor examples everywhere they look!

Just looking for a short summary on how to take care of Adeniums for beginners. I gave this web site address but there is a lot to read for newbies. Do you know of any quick info on here that would help them? Thanks
