Azura, your cat loves you! That image of a pretty girl doesn't look too scary unless it was she who stepped on the alien frog beside the path . . . Is that cavalier little guy a King Charles, Jali? Looks like he can take on more responsibility. I'm wondering about Skybird . . . I wouldn't want to have to use this image again for her. (And she'd better not try that picture of Azura's cat with a gun to its head. ;o)

First, thanks to bluebloom for scat photos very informative even if I was trying to eat my dinner at the time :P tomatovator, from reading the various source material provided by Dr. Carolyn & digdirt I'm left with the impression that it is safe to consume these tomatoes however if buds/flowers get contaminated then you might not want to eat those particular fruits. Windclimber, I have not ID the animal that treated my Earth Box as new form of outdoor plumbing but I doubt very much it could be a bear I really believe I'd see much more damage if that were the case. My fiance discouraged me from buying liquid fence saying it was not very practical and that I'm not being overrun with various animals which is true (we'll see). It's interesting to note that whatever it was has very strong smelling scat because it's been a few days since I scooped this out of the Earth Box (including surrounding soil) and yet still catch a whiff now and then but slowly it is dissipating. I too think maybe it was a raccoon as I've seen one or two in the area plus fox and coyote. The good news is it has not returned that I know of so all's quiet on the eastern front and I wait patiently for these little ones to ripen (photo linked below) I have lost the ID tag for this plant but I'm sure it's a hybrid and it has rugosa type leaves I bought it to hold me over till my heirlooms come on :) Here is a link that might be useful:

Meg, I have an Amazing Box with 4 slots which sounds like the same type of thing you are looking at. The way it works is - you read a design from your computer into the box software, then write it to the card in the format you need. Most digitizers offer the designs in many formats, so you would only download the format you use (for example, my Brother machine uses PES format). You only need the 4 slot box if you are going to use/purchase cards in other formats, like if you wanted to buy Brother cards and write them onto your Viking card. I have never in 6 years used any of the other slots in my box. There are other boxes out there (I think Ultimate Box is one) that only read/write in one format, so they cost less. There is also a program called Embird which is very reasonably priced that you can use to convert designs to your format, as well as for resizing, combining and editing designs. Someone at the store you are buying the newer machine from should be able to explain all of it to you - what format it uses, etc. The cards that came with my Brother machine and my Amazing Box hold quite a few designs each, though the box software only handles up to 6 designs at a time. To imbed images in your GardenWeb posts there are three steps: 1. Digitize photos 2. Upload pics to the internet (hosting site) 3. Link to the pics Digitize Many people have digital cameras, which automatically digitize their pics. You can also have your photos developed with a company which will save your pics onto a CD. There are other photo developing companies which will upload your pics onto an 'album' created for you on their web site. A last option is to scan your pics manually. Upload to the Internet Most of the free image hosting sites have disappeared but if you'll check the properties of a photo inserted into a GW message (place cursor on pic, select right mouse button, then select Properties> you can see which image hosting site that person uses. Another way to find image hosting sites is to do a search for "free image hosting". There are many free image hosting sites but very few allow direct linking - that is, allow your pic to appear from within a GW message. Once you've chosen an image hosting site you'll need to follow the instructions on that site to upload the images from your computer. Generally it involves creating a userID, creating albums, then navigating thru your computer to specify the location of the pic(s) you want to upload. Link GardenWeb allows HTML coding within the body of a message. The format of that HTML is: [img src=""] where you use less than symbols instead of the [ and ]. Type that exact code into your GW message but put the URL of your pic within the quotes.
