I started using coconut oil not too long ago on my hair, and putting it into my coffee in the morning. yes, it floats on the top of the coffee, but surprisingly, it doesn't leave a greasy taste in your mouth when you drink it. My hair has never been so soft! I don't even use conditioner anymore. I just put a dab on my hands (not much, you may have to experiment) and rub it on and let it sit for a few minutes to soak in, then comb it through really well. Even blow drying my hair doesn't make it frizzy with the coconut oil on. Once a week, I put it on and let my hair dry naturally, so it can soak it all up. It makes your skin so smooth! I tried using it on my face, but I have adult acne, and it broke it out. But I did add a couple of drops to my moisturizer at night, and it didn't break me out that way. Anyway, my skin is much smoother, on my face and everywhere else I use it.

Gee when it's 52 degrees here and you still see nuts in shorts. Oops I mean people in shorts. The snow is coming by noon today but usually we start 2 hours earlier than they say or don't get any at all. Hubby was hunting his long underwear this morning and I told him they were in the wash. Well they are...and he found a pair of old white ones. Sent for the Cooking Light magazine - they sent me an offer I could not refuse - $10 for a year. Here is a recipe I found in my recipe box yesterday. Will need to try some of the recipes I keep. This one sounds good. Hearty beef barley soup 2 t oil 20 baby carrots - chopped (or 2 medium - chopped) 1 large onion - chopped 2 celery stalks - chopped 2 t minced garlic (note I buy this in a jar) 1 14 ounce can ff chicken broth 1 " " " " beef broth 3 cups water 3/4 cup quick (10 minute cook time) barley if you use regular barley cook it seperately to package directions except for the last 10 minutes 1 package (1 pound) already cooked beef tips in gravy Heat oil in Dutch Oven (If you don't have one saute vegs in skillet and then add to larger pot) Add veggies and onion until they start to soften (about 2 minutes) Add garlic, both cans of broth and water stir Add barley and beef and gravy, simmer until barley is tender. 201 calories 6 servings

I've never tried taking THAT much apple cider vinegar - I only slurp like a half a TEASPOON! or a third of a capfull. I've heard of people that simply mix it in a glass of water and drink it and others that sprinkle it onto white bread and eat the bread. I can usually slurp it out of the cap just fine. I have found that once you open the bottle for the first time the vinegar kinda ages and the flavor improves (it becomes richer and less harsh). Since I wrote my response I have had another bout of freaky pains that took me to the hospital. I didn't think it was a heart attack, I thought it was something like a torn artery or vein. Extreme shooting pains from the center of my back radiating out to my sholder while I was walking the dog (like I do every morning). I got myself to the nearest hospital and explained to them that I have a hiatal hernia and that the pains could be connected to the three slices of pizza I ate late in the evening the night before and the fact that I had rolled over in my sleep and slept on my stomach. They listened but thought it was something more severe. They ran all the tests and everything came up clean, so they had no explanation for what was wrong. The pain went away in like an hour but since this was a large hospital I ended up staying there most of the day waiting for tests or test results before they would release me. I guess I will forever have this problem. But it only seems really bad once every 10 years so I think I can handle that.

I have a problem with Bladder Infection too. When I am getting a cold I know it right away because water has a horrible taste to me. MY daughter is the same way. I have found out that if I eat too much chocolate I get it sometimes. Another home cures that I know about is cornsilk tea. You can buy the cornsilk at health food stores. I remember going into someones cornfield to get some silks one time when I had it so bad. I drink mine unsweetened though. I think just the slice of lemon in the water might work though. I just said to my boss how I hate the taste of water when I'm sick and she suggested that. I do drink it sometimes but I never even thought of doing it. Usually after I have a cold I end up with BI because I dont drink enough water
