DTD: Thanks for the kind words. This was a major learning experience for me. About the font size, I agree we'll have to wait and see, but I have an underlying faith in the basic common sense of Garden Webbers. I think most people will hesitate to blast our eyeballs with a lot of giant purple letters in their posts. And even if they do, the forum will gently (or maybe not so gently), instruct them to stop. I'm a hopeless believer in giving people a little more information than they probably asked for, and letting them pick out what they want. Claire

Here's a problem I ran across when I was first doing websites. You make a change to a page, upload it, open your browser and look at the page and it is not fixed. A few rounds and you are ready to tear your hair out and wondering what ever possessed you to mess with this infernal project. Often browsers keep copies of things in the cache and do not always re-load the new page. Or you are loading the page on your harddrive and thinking you are loading the website one, or visa-versa. Try cleaning out your cache, or hitting 'shift' + reload. It may be you fixed the problem already but can't see it.

Writersblock is right, but in some browsers, the border is really obnoxious. Also, the alt, the description, is what comes up when the image is loading slowly or not at all (some security systems strip the images) as well as being what the accessibility readers speak aloud, so it's considered bad form not to include it. It doesn't need to be a full on description. Just something descriptive like "sink". Or "stainless sink" for one and "cast iron sink" for another. Changing the visual size with height and width numbers is an easy way to do it when you're pasting in from another website, but keep in mind it doesn't change the size of the picture, just the size it is shown at. If it's a photo off of a camera at full size, it's going to be a huge file (as in megabytes) and take a long time to load and be rejected by some servers. If you change the size in a photo editing program, the file size will change accordingly, your picture will display correctly without the extra code, and won't deliver all that excess information. Giving credit has nothing to do with stealing bandwidth and violating copyright. It's very good manners to give credit. It's better manners not to use pictures and internet resources without permission.
