Move the light fixture now while you are remodeling...doing a half job is never cost effective. There are literally thousands of ceiling fixtures on line....put in the time and look them over You are bound to find what you like at a price you can afford.

The frame looks just like the vintage rattan side tables I found for my son‘s patio a few years back. It would be easy enough to do by adding a small inexpensive chandelier insert and a can of spray paint. Besides doing the usual hanging light searches you could also look for rattan footstools and side tables.

Since when is hefting thirty five 1.5 cu ft bags of compost and manure twice a year, by a 75 year old woman "light exercise?" harharhar. The bags are dumped into 5 gallon buckets and lugged all over my yard to various flower beds, and then dumped into appropriate spots, and scratched in. So I heft the equivalent of each of those bags three times. And no a cart doesn't work in this sloping yard, and it wouldn't help anyway. I also dig all my own holes and do clean up on my hands and knees with a hand raker, scissors, and pruners. And there is no slave husband to help, either. Next comes pruning, including those up to 9 feet tall roses. Dead heading is light activity. Diane

It's interesting how different things hit people so...differently. I too have a visceral hatred for light fixtures which cast shadows like that. I can't even begin to explain how much I hate it, nor even why I hate it. I just do. However I will be the first to admit that I can be a loon. LOL. So if you like the patterns in those shadows I wish you good look on your search. I can tell you that there are about eleventy-million light fixtures available which are unsuitable for use in my home, so you have a lot to choose from. Again, LOL....
