please help if you have any experience with the pb basic couch!!! i am in need of a new couch and the PB basic couch is exactly what i want, though it is more expensive than i wanted to pay. i have looked and looked, but haven't been able to find another slip covered couch that looks and feels as good to me. rowe's nantucket comes close, but the seat seems a bit deeper and i am short...also with rowe's nantucket, the place i found it at had so many different fabric types and colors, i am just not sure which one would look good. at pb however, i feel that they prescreen the types of fabrics and any selection would look good, so you just have to pick what color. i think i would choose fabric grade A or B in a neutral color. any input on grade A vs B? is B really better and worth the extra money? even though i am single with no kids yet have friends over sometimes and am a total couch potato, will the natural/white color still get too dirty with normal wear and tear? (i ask because i don't anticipate washing the slipcovers too much as i hear from others that you shouldn't or they start to really show even more wear and tear). Also, most importantly, is the PB worth the extra money? i am willing to pay extra because it is exactly what i want, but will it last for 10 years, or will it sink and will the cushions get all flattened out in just a few years?

I don't have that sofa, but I just bought this Lee sofa, so I have a few thoughts. If you compare the dimensions between ours and the one you like, you'll see that yours is a lot deeper. I think ours is a tiny bit too shallow, so your model should certainly be roomy enough. I couldn't find any showroom with ours on the floor, so I bought it sight unseen -- scary. I'm happy to say I like it very much, just as I did the picture. A salesperson recommended that I get an idea of depth, etc, by sitting on sofas that were in the showroom. There was a big difference, and I definitely didn't feel comfy in the deep ones. But that's just me. Those might be very comfortable for you. So it's a good idea to do this. Another thing to keep in mind is the fill. I went back and forth on this, finally opting for foam (which is now made of soy), which is less expensive than down. I tried out both kinds in a couple of stores and decided there wasn't a big difference, so I went with the foam. I wish I"d gone with the down! Apparently the fabric itself is a factor in how the filling feels, so there are a few different variables that made it hard to know. What I don't like about the foam is that it's not that lofty, sinking-into-a-cloud feel you get with down. It's also developing little bulges in the back pillow. However, I will say that we did get one Lee chair filled with down and IT doesn't have that lofty feel EITHER!! So either they both take a while to settle into their true character (stiff when new) or the quality of down filling varies with manufacturer. My MIL's down furniture, very expensive, is wonderful and was from day one. On the other hand, you might not be as picky as I am! I got kinda worked up over my big, probably once-in-a-lifetime furniture purchase! I hope this makes sense! Go to C&B, try a bunch out, and ask a lot of questions. Good luck!
