Thanks for all of your suggestions! We will certainly look into them. I would like to respond to the comment about vinyl needing to be maintained. We are very particular about how we keep our floors. Ours was initially ruined from a plastic laundry basket. (Our 9-month-old pushed it across the floor just days after installation). Apparently scuffs from plastic on this surface are inevitable. Our installers came back to take out a few samples to send in to Karndean and could not believe how horrible it looked. We've had professional flooring people come out 3 times now to try to strip it, polish, etc... Anyone who comes in our home can't believe the company is not going to do anything to help us. Be forewarned.... If you are very careful about maintenance and following all instructions about how to maintain your floor, as I am, this product is not for you. We're going to listen to some advice from consumers next time and not salesman to try to avoid this again. :)

Simonton 5500 is a decent window.

We only refer installation through our network of qualifed dealers. Every dealer must attend our sponsored quarterly installation clinic, every dealer must be insured, have at least 5 years experience, offers an 8 year installation warranty, has an excellent credit rating with us and their other vendors. They also subscribe to our code of ethics which includes no high pressure sales, no inflated or exaggerated pricing, no drop down pricing. One fair price everytime. They are not permitted to play games with your money. Professional, competent installers are hard to find. But, when you find them, window installations proceed with success and trouble free performance. BTW, there are plenty of long time home improvement companies that have poor reputations when it comes to price, quality and installation. Shop carefully. Interview them. Make calls. Contact their references and contact their creditors. Go see their last job or two! Don't be in a hurry, those windows will wait for you to choose the right installers. Michael

Ingrid: There is no " leaking and moldiness due to sloppy dishwasher installation." The only part of your dishwasher to enter the sink base cabinet is the drain hose on a high loop over the cabinet wall. That hose is clamped to a nipple on your sink drain or disposal. As long as that clamp is tight, there are no dishwasher leaks. An undermounted sink is a different matter. Due to installation with clips or blocking, leaking sinks are common. If there is recurring black/brown gunk at your sink flange, your sink is leaking. It can literally cause your natural stone countertops to self-destruct if they are improperly rodded, in addition to rotting cabinets and bug infestation. Have your GC insist that your sink be strapped, not clipped or blocked, in place please. Strapped sinks don't leak.
