Comfortable pants/capris for travel, walking, hiking

I have posted about this before in discussions about pants, but I'll repeat that I am "bottom heavy" -- relatively small waist, big hips/thighs. So the last thing I need is a pair of cargo capri pants with all kinds of pockets to attract more attention to my thighs. But when I shop, it seems like that's all I see. We're going to Switzerland in a few weeks and I want pants I can be comfortable in for long car rides, hiking, walking, sightseeing, etc. I wear jeans almost every day of my life but I'd like something with a little more stretch? without looking like (sorry) old lady pants. If it helps, I'm usually a size 12 (sometimes a 10... sigh... used to be a consistent size 10) and I'm 5'2". Any suggestions? I would also love to find a few casual skirts to bring but haven't really seen any that speak to me.

I have tried a few things at Title 9 and Athleta and had no luck there.
