Ok just to clarify, but I did mention it in my OP: Obviously my MIL does not like to look after the grandkids. Therefore we try to always organise something else so we don't have to bother her. So we actually don't 'expect' her to do us any favors and we don't 'take her for granted'. Fair enough, if you don't want to babysit grandkids than you have every right to not bother with it. However I do find it hard to understand because they are such nice kids and she has so much time on her hands. But again, we just try to find other solutions and we don't hold it against her. That was not the initial issue. The issue is that MIL is not all that interested in anything, therefore creates her own distance, and then goes to FDH to complain she does not feel welcome in our home. ItÂs true that I used to invite MIL and FIL over a lot more than I do now, they used to come around probably twice a week, and now that is maybe once or twice a fortnight. So it's not as if Liesbeth has cut them off in retaliation, I'm just simply less inclined to go out of my way for them. As she does not want to go out of her way for us, it's not that complicated. MIL canÂt be bothered with a lot of things; when grandkids have school concert and invite her she doesnÂt want to come, when we have an important event she will not ring and ask how it went, when itÂs someones birthday she will buy a present from local supermarket and tell that person that it was just easier that way, she invited us out for dinner a while ago and then proceeded to ask if we had enough money to pay for it?? But then when MIL decides itÂs time to see the grandkids she needs to make the point that itÂs sooo important for her to see them. And yes that annoys me at times because it seems insincere. But that doesnÂt mean I walk around all annoyed all the time, or IÂm such an angry person. And it's not THAT bad, but I did feel p*ssed off when MIL then goes to FDH to tell him she does not feel welcome at our house. Why not talk to me? As much as FineDreams might think I would loose it and MIL would probably have to ring cops to control me, I could have appreciated it a lot better if she had come to me and at least we could have cleared the air by talking about it. I could've explained I've been inviting them less because I got the vibe of her SHE's the one that can't be bothered much. Even though she says that she does want to see us more, she hasn't shown us. (And IÂm the one that invites them usually, FDH makes less of an effort in that respect because he says he knows what his mom is like). Once we talk and understand each other better we will probably be able to move forward and into a better relationship again, because I'm sure we all want to get along. I just like to see her make an effort to approach me, but we will see what happens..

I wish she would have taken your advice... We both know her sale will affect the next... I know she's lucky to have sold, but I still think it will pick up in the next few weeks. I've been saying that buyers are wanting $50,000 off the price, this is a perfect example. On a house priced in our range, that would really hurt us and we couldn't afford to move. The agent said that there aren't any buyers. She said she has a few in the $170,000 range; so there are a few, just not in our range. That market is a different house - 1 bathroom, needing lots of work... We have to hang in there. I'm going to start really looking this week, hoping that my guardian angel knows we have nowhere to go, and that once we figure an area with possibles, buyers will start coming around again. How's the market by you?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess they do view it as none of my business, but when she hurt THEIR brother/son so much and THEIR nephew and niece, I don't know why they would even WANT to have anything to do with her. I don't want them to hate her simply because I do -- I just don't know how they can overlook all the turmoil she put them through (before I was even in the picture) and just be friends because she is "nice" (i.e., manipulative!). I see it as a betrayal to him....especially when he even says "I don't get it - they weren't this close to her when we were married!!!" To me, that spells her manipulation of them to include her so that she can insert herself in our lives, like she always tries to do. Even regarding the graduation parties - you can bet that she ran back to them and said that "stepmom won't let me come" when that is not the truth at all - her son and her ex don't want her there, but I have become the voice of our family in a lot of ways (I know, my own fault, but.....God love my husband, he gets details mixed up and forgets things guy style....and with a woman looking to pounce at every corner, you need to be on your toes with her).

At least they didn't tape the bottom flange! Other than that, the sill pans look pretty terrible from the inside. Simple plastic sheeting is not a good sill pan material because it doesn't seal fastener penetrations. It's hard to mold into the proper shape of sill flashing while maintaining good drainage.
