alexr- I'd give Bona a call and see what they recommend. We have 3 coats of Traffic on our oak floor and it's fine in terms of thickness and feel. That's over a regular MinWax stain.

As above. The finish is doing it's job. The wood is fine. The finish is fine. And the good news about SHINY spots = they dull down with time. The other option to try is rubbing alcohol. And yes...it is possible for a moderate level "gloss" like satin will show something SHINY like oily spots. If something is SHINIER than the finish then it will show up as shinier. I would bet a gloss finish would have hidden these spots. A decent cleaning is probably all that is needed. And BTW, what is your cleaning regime (I'm curious).

Many people have had a 'poly plywood' floor last a decade or more. The finish is part of that. The wear through is the other part. Plywood should have the 3-coat system (which you are going to do). It needs maintenance (buff and coat) a snick earlier than solid hardwood. That's where the 10 years mark comes in. As a commercial space the 10 year mark is common to see a buff and coat done anyways. Just be prepared for it. The one downside of polyurethaned plywood = you have to pull it up if you ever want something else. All that work you put into that surface will need to come out before anything else goes down.

You would need to recoat with new finish or live with it. Did they shake the bottle well enough? Shake before and after adding hardener to make sure all the chemicals are mixed in. It is also, possible that the finish is old. If, the hardener is a yellow or wheat color. It is a good sign that the finish is a year old and past its shelf life. The hardener should be a clear color. Ingredients loses its function after a certain period of time (shelf life). Also, is it a pure Traffic HD system? HD from start to end, not just for final coat. Film build between finishes are different. This is a reason not to build base layers with lower end finishes and then finalizing with the high end stuff. It affects the sheen. And matching becomes a pain in the future.
