There are so many smart people here, that maybe many can help you seperate true tropical plants from those that are not. I think you might even have some sud-tropical ones. I know that certain citrus, jasmine and olive that I have can handle temps that low, but much prefer the 50's. In fact, olive and some jasmine are required to have these temps to set bloom. Plumeria if you keep them on the very dry side, rest. Clivias can set bud. .. I would probably do a search on each plant and find out what tolerates and requires certain temps... If it were me and my room was getting below the 50's, I would put an electric heater on a timer, a thermomter, and a humidifyer with constant air movement by fan and keep the temps warmer. Maybe some here can help identify the ones that actually need cooler temps to thrive. I am horrible with names.. Sorry. Too, you could empty all those plants out of the room before you loose them if you do not use heat and are not sure. Tropicals are just that, and love warmth, thrive in warmth. If you don't provide these temps, then most just might hang on or die from root temps being too cold. Also watch out for watering. It only takes once when the soil stays damp too long before rot sets in on most these plants. Try to water sparingly until the temps rise. Goodluck.. ccoombs . . . thanks for your input !! Probably when it all comes down to it, we will end up going with sheet vinyl/fiberfloor . . are they the same thing ?? I should know by now, I guess . . . but still in the land of confusion !! Who woulda thunk that a simple floor for the sunroom would cause so much angst ??!!!!! Had at one point considered cork . . . but I believe it has to be glued down, and because of water problems we had at one time, it's been advised to use something other than glue-down. I do love cork, however . . . I'm with you on the not knowing how to post pictures !! Something I need to learn !!!! The entire time of the kitchen remodel . . . No insulation in the roof makes changing out the windows a moot point in my opinion. All your heat is going out the top. If you plan on doing anything with the room, you better insulate the top. Closed cell spray foam is your only real solution here given the amount of space for insulation. Baseboard electric is horrid, very inefficient. I had bought one of those free standing baseboard type electric heaters once, I had the idea it would be good because its quiet. I used it for a month and saw a big difference in my electric bill, and stopped using it. What about the room underneath the sunroom? Isnt that cold also or is there insulation between the sunroom and the room below? How much sq ft is the sunroom and what is the current heating in the house?

Use solar shades then you keep the view even on really sunny days . I really dislike woven wood shades to me they always look like cheap bamboo shades and always block the view. I use solar shades for Steves blinds and have never had an issue. Go with 10% and in dark color to get the best view out of them
