My new lime tree doesn't like me
Comments (3)"branches are coming out from the base" could be root suckers. (But your link doesn't go to such a photo.) To determine if that's so, look for the slight jog in the main stem (where the tree was grafted) -- if the shots are from below the jog, remove all and remove any others that appear as soon as they are seen. Your link shows a single leaf but is seriously out of focus. Notice that the in focus zone is behind that. So please back up a bit and take another picture of the leaf. As for "not taking off," the tree has only been in the ground for 6 months, It needs time to develop a sturdy root system in the ground before that can occur. Typically requires several years....See MoreMy neighbor doesn't like me feeding the birds!
Comments (68)I used to feed stale bread to the outside birds. My neighbors dad,who lived at the house part time after retiring to Pa,,,told me it was no good for the birds. So for the last 5 years I have bought wild bird seed,..A year or so ago my neighbor told me I needed to stop feeding them as they pooped on his 50 thousand dollar truck.I told him to F off...Months later I got a warning from town saying I can only feed them with a bird feeder,...I got one,,,,Then he told me not to feed them more than once a day.At 63,with a bad hip,I fed them if I happened to see it empty whenever that was.I got a ticket from town saying the food that falls to the ground as they eat,is illegal.,,,How can people be so mean?...See Moreocd gc doesn't like tile around window, help me please.
Comments (61)ptamom, florantha, fori, and trailrunner - thanks so muck for your feedback. Thanks holligator for the grout color feedback. I ended up trying to match the more beige tones in the tile to tone down the greens and yellows. I think it works. My one concern is that the sealer will make it darker. I don't think your grout looks lighter, just really great. muspic, I agree with you. I think once it is painted (later today) and the herbs are in place it will look fine. At least that is my hope. Thanks laurainlincoln. Staying strong here. It is a working kitchen, sayde. It's purpose is for serious cooking and not so serious enjoying of the cooking. It's about balance and I'm really trying to achieve that here. So here's the latest update....Finished tiling Sunday and grouting yesterday. Still have some touch ups and csulking to do today but he did it. When all was said and done he did say he was very pleased with the results. That's a very high accolade coming from him. Here's some pics! I love it! I love it so much I'm not even going to mind paint window trim today :) And I detest retailed trim painting because it's so time consuming. Thanks for all of your support. The end result was worth all of the angst. I'll post another pic when the herbs are in and it's what I hope it will be....See MoreMathilde doesn't like me!
Comments (11)I was sure my new Hoya curtisii hated me... It too was very beautiful UNTIL I had it in my clutches. I think it got stressed with the soil change (it was in almost coffee-ground fine soil). I forced myself not to touch it after I watered the new soil twice, and half the leaves died off. But FINALLY it has normal color again and it's starting to 'sit up' more happily. Maybe some Hoyas are just jerks... until they get warmed up to you? ;)...See Moremarie_ndcal
