Im no mechanic but I have had a few problems over the years with garage doors. Firstly you need to release the door from the overhead track you should have a cord hanging down and by pulling this should disconect the door and allow you to manually lift the door. By doing this you will eliminate the posibility that there is something jamming the track or that it has for some reason jumped out of time. Try it up and down a few times be carefull coming down its heavy. You may also want to check that theres nothing breaking the lite on the way up like weather stripping. Hope these help

When your opener quit working was the door in the open position? Does the small LED blink 5 times then pause and repeat? It is located next to all those white wires. If so your trolley is probably jammed against the bolt just in front of the opener. Remove the bolt and run the door until it closes. Then using a small screwdriver turn the 'up limit' control about 4 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. The 'up limit' is located on the side of the opener. I just replaced the carraige on an older genie garage door opener with the three piece rail. It was a simple fix, off with the old, on with the new and I lubed the carriage and screwdrive with the recommended grease! My problem is the vibration as the carriage tracks!! I checked the joints where the rail joins together and they are tight! The design of the 3 piece rail does not lend itself to a vibration free operation! There appears to be sway from side to side with no bracing between header and motor. Question: Are there any brackets out there that can fix this problem, after market, hand made, etc.. DIYGrandpa

I have a Craftsman GDO #139.53674SRT2 recently it quit working. Neither of the 3 remotes work, or the wired wall button. When I press any of the transmitters or wall button the unit makes a click and then the orange light on the unit blinks 5 times, the light doesn't come on. The light does not come on when the beam is broken on the photocell eyes either. What do you think the problem is? I have checked the alignment of the photocell eyes and replaced the wired wall button, no luck, any advice?
